Rainbows of Smiles!!!

Hello everyone and Happy Tuesday. Let's see what I can share with you today. Last week, I made a life change and so far, I'm loving it!!! I started getting up at 5:00am with my husband 3 days a week. Why so early? Because I've started swimming again and it feels fantastic. I used to be in the pool 2-3 times a day when I was a little less aged lol. It is good for the soul and my energy is going up YEAH!!!

So I thought I would share with you today a project I created that also felt good to do.

This layout is full of color and I love the "non-white" space. I hope you like it too.

I used a combination of great Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist colors, Jillibean Soup alphas and Maya Road Chipboard pieces to accent the misted Pink Paislee paper.

To adhere the buttons to the layout, I used Helmar 450 Quick Dry Adhesive. Perfect for those heavier embellishments.

That smile on the third photo is what I would see every morning I would go into our little boys room. It still melts my heart every time I see his smile.

That is it for today

Dixie Pieces March Kit- Tangerine Sea

Lately I've been on a big Authentique Papers kick, so when I received my March Kit from Dixie Pieces, to say I was thrilled would be an UNDERSTATEMENT. The new Tangerine Seas kit from Dixie Pieces is filled with the Authentique Papers Gathering collection as well as some beautiful papers from Echo Park.

One of the things I'm loving the most about Dixie Pieces kits are the fibers that are included. This month there is Pink Paislee Mistables trim, lush brown corduroy, and super sweet twine. First off I wanted to share with you a few cards I created using this months Dixie Pieces kit followed by a few layouts.

Next I created these layouts and I'm loving how they turned out. I do so enjoy distressed edges hehe.

So check out Dixie Pieces and grab yourself one of the March Tangerine Seas Kits. They are chalk full of goodness and this month even has a great script stamp. Until next time

A Pink Paislee Altered Photo Album

Soiree, Soiree, Soiree!!! Doesn't that word just scream FUN!?!? Yup, if I could go to a Soiree every week, I think I would. The colors, the fun and the fun would be fabulous. I think it is why Pink Paislee picked this name for the most fun collection EVER.

Hey there everyone. Today I've got an altered project to share with you using the bright and festive collection from Pink Paislee. I've paired it up with a little Creative Charms and my favorite Helmar Adhesives.

Now do you want to see what it originally looked like? This is a transformation that Stacey from What NOT to Wear would be proud of I'm certain...

Holy Doodles Batman right? I used a bunch of my favorite Spellbinders dies for this one as well and wanted to show you a close up. Enjoy.

Someone in the family is going to get this as a Christmas gift and I sure hope they like it.

On a completely different note, I've recently gotten an iPad and I'm having so much fun. If you have one, what are your favorite apps? Games? mom apps? etc. Would love to hear from you.

Until next time

I Brake for Stamps and Tattered Angels Goodness

I love the ocean, the beach, the sand... Funny how I'm a landlocked girl but my soul soars anytime I'm close to the coast or the sea. So when I found out that this months theme was paint systems, I knew my heart and mojo would be lifted up by the Lagoon Paint System.

First off today, I'm sharing with you an album cover I created using a Pink Paislee canvas album I had received from a friend (thank you so much Martha ~hugs~). I sprayed the album cover with the Apricot Nectar Chalkboard Mist and the Bahama Blue Glimmer Mist. Then I added a little Golden Goddess Glimmer Glam here and there. The flowers were either sprayed with Apricot Nectar or painted with Golden Goddess. Love how those roses turned out...

A Little Prima Canvas, and Basically Bare canvas too. Adding some gems and pearls to finish the album cover up. Here is a close up of the flowers for you. They look so darn real with the Glimmer Glam!!! And a little Zva Creative flourish pearls for good measure and VOILA!!!s

Next up a simple card using some Pink Paislee Parisian Anthology Papers and Crepe Ribbon. I created the flower by spritzing it with Apricot Nectar and a smidge of Bahama Blue. Then the inner part was painted with Golden Goddess Glimmer Glam.

The wonderful stamp is from I Brake for Stamps and is called Nature. They have so many amazing sentiment stamps so take a boo would ya?

When you purchase anything, use my design team code to receive a 10% discount on your purchase. The code is SAVE10ERIKA

Lastly is my second page for my journal (made of Chip Tiles) that I started thanks to Tracy Weinzapfel. I'm putting my own spin on the Life List album by creating pages that remind me of the things that are important. For this one, I used a fair helping of the Pewter Glimmer Glaze (one of my new favorite paint colors) . I used a heart Glimmer Screen for a few layers of color, then added Gesso onto the journal page using the screen as well. I LLLLOOOOOOOVVVVVEEEEE this one.

Well, that is all for me today. Don't forget to check out the Tattered Angels Design Team Call HERE. This company is a dream to work with and you may not think you will be accepted, but you never know until you try. I didn't think I had a hope in H E double hockey sticks, but my dream came true and I got my wings. Thanks for stopping by

until next time

Birthday Fun

I love birthdays. Whether my own, or our children's, birthday are always full of color, surprise and CAKE!!! This sweet tooth sure loves a good piece of cake. Hi Everyone, I'm here today to share with you a little card I created using the Game Booth dies from Cottage Cutz. This set of dies is so versatile and today I wanted to show you that you can use the game booth as a frame.

I used Pink Paislee Soiree papers and some Donna Salazar glitter to give this card a real girly feel. Then I added a dash more sparkle with Stickles. If you are looking for a wonderful card stock for your base for cards/scrapbook/paper crafts, check out this amazing card stock from Paper Temptress. It is truly AWESOME.

For the card, I used Helmar 450 Quick Dry Adhesive with some Zapdots and Premium Craft Glue. Can't make a great project without great glue.

Hope you like it...

That is it for me today. Be sure to stop by this post if you have some time as well. I'm having a little blog candy and there will be some great Cottage Cutz dies included.
Until next time

Mojo Monday, Guest Designer and News

Hi Everyone and welcome to the weekend. Stampede has started here in Calgary and I'm certain that the kidlets and I will be tackling a few pancake breakfasts. Watched a bit of the parade on Friday and the kids really enjoyed that.

Today is a busy day. First off I am the guest designer over at Darkroom Door. 2 days of projects and I'd love for you to check them out. I had such a great time creating with the Darkroom Door stamps, and if you love rubber stamps with beautiful images, take a look at their wonderful selection.

Next up my challenge entry for the newest Mojo Monday challenge. It has been a while since I participated, but the new sketch got my Mojo revving. I used the Soiree collection from Pink Paislee as well as my favorite Helmar adhesives: 450 Quick Dry, Zapdots and Liquid Scrap Dots.

Love the colors and the images in this collection. So fun and vibrant.

Last but not least I have been invited to be a part of the Scrapping Cottage Design Team. I love using dies in my projects and I'm looking forward to sharing those projects with you. To take a look at the new design team, check out the Scrapping Cottage Blog.

TAAFOMFT June 30th Challenge

Hello Everyone and happy Tuesday. I hope that all of you had a fantastic long weekend.

This week marks the last challenge over at the TAAFOMFT blog and the challenge is "favorite collection" So as an ode to the wonderful Miss Julie, I decided to create a favorite collection of favorite things for the challenge. That was a mouth full wasn't it lol.

I decided to created a layout that does not include a photo. Instead, I used the lyrics from the wonderful Sound of Music song instead as the focal point. I'm so loving all the little embellishments I created to go with the beautiful papers from Pink Paislee. Anything with butterflies (like the Butterfly Garden collection) are a love of mine for certain. From the brown paper package tied up in string, to the white dress with blue satin sash. For the dress, I used the Dress me Up dress form from Basically Bare and added a good helping of both Bridal Glitter and Moonrise Glitter Tinsel .

I love the richness that these glitters have added to the dress form. I also used some Organic Garden Glimmer Glam on the Cosmo Cricket mittens to tie in with the colors. All that dimension on the layout is created using Helmar Liquid Scrap Dots. Positively the best dimensional adhesive out there.

So if you haven't made your project for the new challenge at TAAFOMFT, take a few moments today and create about your favorite collection. And Julie, I just want to take a moment to tell you that I'm beyond honored to have been a part of your challenge site. I've been blessed to create for you. Thank you again *hugs*

Until next time

Favorite Things of Spring and some SUPER COOL NEWS!!!

I love the newness that Spring offers. The fresh blades of grass poking out from the ground, pretty pastel flowers blooming in the moist soil, and the return of all things new.

This week, the new challenge over at TAAFOMFT challenge site began, and it is all about "What is your Favorite Thing about Spring". I just had to grab some of my favorite colors of Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists that make me think of Springtime. A Little Puerto Rico, Viva Pink and Bahama Blue should do the trick I think!!!

The background paper is from the Parisian Anthology Collection from Pink Paislee and the rest of the papers are Websters Pages. I used some of beautiful blossoms from Prima to finish off the layout and I know this is my favorite layout to date. It is just so ME!!! I hope you love it. All matched up perfectly with my favorite adhesives. I used Helmar 450 Quick Dry Adhesive and Helmar Liquid Scrap Dots, with a dollop of Premium Craft Glue for good measure.

So take a look at the other projects the design team at TAAFOMFT has created for the Favorite Thing about Spring challenge.

Also I've got some amazingly exciting news to share with you

A little while ago, I received an email from Candy Rosenberg about an opportunity to be on a design team. Well without even knowing what the product would be, I leaped into the possibilities and today is the day that we go live. Basically Bare is the absolutely wonderful creation by Angela Pruitt (who I've been blessed to work with in the past). Beautiful canvas, chipboard, felt and acrylic pieces to alter to your hearts content. Please take a moment to check them out. You will see the sweetest dress forms EVER!!! They also have a fantastic blog and a facebook page that will have regular giveaways and contests, so take a moment to "like" them.

Frightening isn't it lol. The papers are from Pink Paislee and the Skeleton dimensional sticker is Basic Grey. I added a few spritzes of Haunted Shadows Glimmer Mist (my favorite purple from Tattered Angels), just to grunge the card up a bit.

The Diva Door Hanger

I know I may have said it before, but our little girl is a bit of a Diva. She loves everything girlie, pink, sparkly and ribbon. She always thinks that when I'm making something that it just has to be for her. And she could NEVER have enough clothes. So recently I made our little Diva a door hanger that she now says goodnight to every night before bed.

I used a bunch of the Fancy Pants About a Girl collection, some yummy Artisan Elements from Pink Paislee and Glimmer Mist Oh how I love Sparkle, so I know that she gets that from me hehe.

Here is a little close up shot for you to see the door hanger a little bit better.

The crown is her favorite part. I wonder if she knows she is the princess in this household. The Queen title is already taken hehe.

Thanks for stopping by today. Don't forget about my little blog treat HERE

ps- I've got a bunch of things that I've been working on and as soon as I can share, I will start posting. Hence the breaks lately in blog posts.

A tag for ya and some WINNERS!!!

A few days ago, I had a little candy for anyone that left a comment about the 80s and its fashion.

I'm feeling generous so I picked 3 winners

Karen Narelle
Kristin
and Penny Kitz.

Please send me your information via my email address and I'll send out a little package of goodies to you.

Next I've got a tag to share with you. There is a wonderfully talented lady out there, that inspires me on a daily basis with her artwork. If you have never hopped over the Jean Franks Beck's Blog Bluebird Paperie, you've just gotta check it out. Jean uses the most beautiful stamps and she is the queen of ink I think. I decided to try my hand at a vintage tag. (thanks so much Jean)

I got these great journaling tags to try out from Debby of HeArt of Scrapbooking, and I'm absolutely loving them.

Here is my tag. I used one of the transparency tags and adhered it by using V2 Vellum Adhesive from Helmar. If you love using transparencies and acrylic, this is the glue for you!!!

Hope you love it.

The paper on the tag, is from the new Parisian Anthology line from Pink Paislee. Can you say DELISH!!! I can't wait to ink this stuff up with some Glimmer Mist. Also, the ribbon is a pink wrinkle ribbon available at Really Reasonable Ribbon.

Really Reasonable Ribbon is having a blog hop on the 13th, and there are tonnes of candy prizes along the way, including a big one here. So make sure you mark you calendars and stop by.

Ms Scraptastic 2010 Round 4- 8 x 10 photo

Hi Everyone. Wow the week is almost over. Where did it go this time? Summer is flying by and I've got a whole lot of things I want to get done.

As many of you know, I've been playing along with the Ms Scraptastic 2010 pageant at Scrap-tastic. For round 4, we had to use a large photo (8 x 10 for a 12 x 12 layout), which I was scared outta my gourd to try. But the trepidation passed and this is the creation that I entered.

I wanted to use the photo, which I took at the Calgary Zoo last summer, as patterned paper. Highlighting that one yellow tulip. What do ya think? There is a bunch of wonderful pieces from Magistical Memories on the layout. I used the Crystal Clear Wrought Iron Swirl and attached it to the layout, using the V2 Vellum Adhesive from Helmar. If you work with acrylic at all, you will absolutely love using the V2 Vellum Adhesive. I wouldn't use anything else now.

I also used the Antique Mirror and Antique Filigree chipboard pieces to finish it all off.

I made it to round 5 and I'll be showing you the layout tomorrow.

From the Heart - Pink Paislee and Helmar

Sometimes I find myself immediately drawn to a paper line. That feeling of "I gotta have it" takes over and when I create with it, it such makes me smile. One of those lines is the Bayberry Cottage Collection from Pink Paislee. These guys know how to make the perfect collections. The colors, the texture and the patterns, are just about enough to make me burst!!!

I created this card for the Raise the Bar Challenge this week which is to use pearls. One of my favorite little embellishments for sure. I just love the texture in this card. and the "key to the heart" on the chain turned out better than I'd hoped. Yummo!!!

Bombshell Sugar Skulls

Hello Everyone and Happy Monday. While you are reading this, I'm either in my car driving to Billings, or I'm on the plane on my way to CHA. I'm so stinkin excited, I can hardly handle it. This is when I say, thank goodness for autoposting!!!

Bombshell Stamps has a great collection of Sugar Skull stamps and this one titled Growing Hearts, has got to be my absolute favorite. Just the detail and expression the stamp portrays is quite stunning.

For this card I stamped the image using memento ink, then colored in sections using marvy markers. Immediately I added some Glossy Accents to the top to make the colors bleed. That melting and completely sad look happened. YEAH!!!

The black leaves ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbon and the paper is from one of my all-time favorite manufacturers. Pink Paislee's  Bayberry Cottage collection is filled with damask prints and houndstooth. YUMMO!!! I paper pieced the head scarf on the stamp and love love love it.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I'm going to try and get some live posts from the show on the blog, just don't know what my internet access will be. What do you really want to see from the show?

Ms Scraptastic 2010 Round 3- Passion

Hi Everyone and Happy Friday to all of you. The weekend is finally upon us and it should be a great one.

Well I've made it to round 4 over at Scraptastic for the Ms Scraptastic 2010 pageant and i'm beyond tickled. This card maker is starting to really fall in love with scrapbooking. Some of you did warn me, so I should have been prepared. ACK!!!!! Now I'm really going to have to ask for a better camera for christmas hehe.

Here is the layout that I created using all Pink Paislee Queen Bee collection papers. On a side note, have you seen the new Pink Paislee releases? HOLY DOODLES!!! I'm in love.

I also used some Magistical Memories Acrylic for the layout that I colored using alcohol ink. Love that true colors of it came through, thanks to using Helmar V2 vellum adhesive. This stuff ROCKS!!!. V2 works on vellum, acyrlic, Punchinella, and fabric. LOVE IT!!!!

I've loved faeries as long as I can remember, and I'm so glad I did a layout about that passion. This layout stuff is FUN!!!

The faerie photo is just the perfect match for those Pink Paislee papers.

Now I'm off to finish my round 5 project. This one scares me a little hehe

Helmar to Pink Paislee's Rescue!!!

Hi Everyone. Wow this week...where did it go? Welcome to the weekend and a project that I know has been done before, just not by me! I've seen a lot of beautiful altered birdhouses on my blogging travels, and thought I should give it a go. So armed with an arsenal of amazing adhesive and the wonderful Pink Paislee 365 Degrees collection, I set out to see what would come to fruition.

I used a few different Helmar products. The beads are applied using Gemstone Glue. Some Liquid Scrap Dots rescues the little twigs from blowing away in the breeze, and all of the paper is adhered to the house using Permanent Adhesive Runner. Oh and let's not forget the Zapdots. I love giving a project dimension. I didn't have to hold that little birdie for long before the 450 Quick Dry did its little miracle

So here it is, my very first altered birdhouse. I think it would make any tweeter happy.

Pink Paislee and altered birdhouses...Just seems like a match made in heaven.
Thanks for stopping by today. If you've ever made an altered birdhouse, I'd love to see it. Leave me link.
