Miracle Star-Wow Embossing Indeed

Hello everyone and Happy Back to School Week. This year, our little girl is in Kindergarten 3 days a week, so I've got a little me time to do things. Yesterday was her first day, and she absolutely LOVED it. Gotta love when your children love school, and we are so blessed to have both of them in that mind set.

Today, I'm sharing with you a project I created for the Wow Embossing Powders blog and I truly think it is my favorite project to date. I created it using a lot of double embossing and I think it will become our new tree star for Christmas. If you want to see more of the project and see what supplies I used, hop on over to the Wow Embossing Powder blog to see.

Here is the finished products using Wow Embossing Powders, May Arts ribbons, Helmar adhesive and Basically Bare pieces.

Thank you so much for stopping by today. I would love to hear what holiday decoration around your home, you love the most.

Also, there is a education team call going on right now on the Helmar blog and a great friend Susan Weckesser, has a design team call up now too.

Until next time

Unique layout using Momenta and Basically Bare

Good Morning everyone. I've started the long process of redoing my entire studio and holy doodle batman, I've got a LOT of STUFF!!!! I've decided that I'm going to do Pinks/black/white and yellow. Should be a very happy place when I'm done.

Today I am sharing with you a layout I created using some beautiful papers from Momenta and 2 pages from the Betty's Brackets album from Basically Bare. This layout was so much fun to create and I adore the way that lacing adds to the texture.

I used a great mask from Crafters Workshop and some molding paste and once it was dry, I embellished the design with Dew Drops from The Robins Nest.

The chipboard piece for the title is also a Basically Bare piece and the sticker is from Momenta. It didn't go with the rest of the layout, so I actually colored it with Copics to get a perfect match.

Here is the finished layout. Easter Bunny and our daughter!!!

Thanks so much for stopping by today. I hope you have a fantastic day. By the way, if you have a moment, stop by this amazing blog to see some serious eye candy today!!! Cat is one of my absolute favorite artists out there. Her water color projects are breathtaking!!!

Until next time

Vegas Wedding, Helmar and Authentique Papers

I've never been a Mini Album kinda girl. Always thought I didn't have what it took to create them. My brain started working overtime and the ideas started flooding in when I received a few beautiful ones from Basically Bare.

I wanted to create something that would keep some of my wedding memories alive, so I went into uber romance mode and this album was the end result. This book was perfect to hold some of the items that I kept from our Vegas wedding. So here we go....An album all created with a little love from Helmar and Authentique Papers.

First off, filled with the Authentique Papers Collection Uncommon, lace, rhinestones and distress ink. Followed by the pages of the book in order for you to see.
  Basicalbum1 (Large)
page 1- I used Helmar Quick Fix Adhesive Runner for the border strips and Helmar Liquid Scrap Dots for the dimension
  Basicalbum2 (Large)
Basicalbum3 (Large)
Basicalbum4 (Large)

For the next page, I used a piece of photo wedding negative for the pull. I adhere it together with Helmar 450 Quick Dry and it worked amazingly well!!!

Basicalbum5 (Large)
The heart below is a combination of the acrylic Basically Bare heart, a tag, then the chipboard heart for  sturdiness. I added a little Maya Road Velvet flower as well

Basicalbum6 (Large)
Basicalbum7 (Large)
Our Wedding Vows, plane tickets and our first wedding card from my Father.

Basicalbum8 (Large)
Basicalbum9 (Large)
Basicalbum11 (Large)
And lastly, a favorite love poem of mine to finish off the Wedding Album Mini.I embossed the poem on vellum and used Helmar V2 Vellum Spray. This stuff doesn't show through and really is the best adhesive for Vellum

Basicalbum12 (Large)
I'm so glad that I finally created a mini album for our wedding. I love the soft Authentique Papers and the sturdiness that Helmar Adhesives brings to the album. This one will be around for a long time. Thank you so much for stopping in today. I hope that I've inspired you and I would love to hear about your weddings. Leave me a comment and let me know what your fondest wedding moment is. until next time

Let's Go To Vegas lyrics
Hey baby, let's go to Vegas
Kiss the single life good-bye
Hey baby, let's go to Vegas
Bet on love and let it ride

Lyin' on the bank of the river
Stars are dancin', Lord it's hot
Holdin' you is what I live for
I just had a crazy thought

Hey baby, let's go to Vegas
Kiss the single life good-bye
Hey baby, let's go to Vegas
Bet on love and let it ride

We'll find a little wedding chapel
A pair of rings and a preacher too
Underneath the neon steeple
We'll take a gamble and say "I do"

Hey baby, let's go to Vegas
Kiss the single life good-bye
Hey baby, let's go to Vegas
Bet on love and let it ride

Viva Las Vegas, sparklin' lights
Dangerous livin', tumblin' dice
You're my ace in the hole now honey
And I'm your lady luck
Pack a few things and a little money
And put 'em in the truck

Hey baby, let's go to Vegas
Kiss the single life good-bye
Hey baby, let's go to Vegas
Bet on love and let it ride

2011 Favorite Projects- Happy New Years Eve

I love the idea of sharing your favorite projects from the year passing. There have been so many precious moments this year and I have been blessed with them. With precious moments comes a fair share of hardships as well and I'm looking forward to a new year, a fresh beginning and a road not traveled.

So here are my projects to share today, showcasing some of my favorite products as well.A new way for me to ring in the new year creatively. Thanks to all my friends that do this already. You have giving me a new tradition...

This was one of my first canvases of the year and now that I've tried it, I'm in love with canvas!!!
Using my Favorite Tattered Angels colors to date...

In February, I tried my hand at making a braided headband for our little monkey Morgan. I used some wonderful ribbons from Really Reasonable Ribbon. Just a little shout out to Bonnie for having me be a part of your design team for the time I was on. I so enjoyed being a part of RRR.

March was a tough month for me and I did what I could to keep afloat. So having to create a project about your favorite feature for TAAFOMFT challenge blog was a perfect little pick me up. (Thank you Julie for being a friend and for having me be a part of your baby)

April finally brought my husband to us. Being apart was really hard for so many reasons. I thank God every day for having my husband, even on those days that were so so difficult. April also was my husbands birthday month and I created a card for him using one of my favorite paper collections to date from Paper Trunk.

May...So nice to be close to my mom for Mothers Day. So to honor my Mommy, I created this layout using Bo Bunny papers. I think it is my favorite layout of the YEAR!!!

June is when I finally got diagnosed with depression and I'm so so grateful that I'm on medication and can now see the forest through the trees. What a difference a few changes can make in ones life.So for June I couldn't help but pick this card. The message is clear and Nikki Sivils always makes me smile with her collections, her smile and her kindness.

July brought a guest designer spot with Donna Salazar and talk about excited!!! I love Donnas Girlie Grunge collections and had a tonne of fun with this one. My favorite was this card with a butterfly. I love butterflies!!!

But wait!!!! I also got to be a guest designer with Darkroom Door and LLLLLLOOOOVVVVEEEEE their stamps so July is a two-fer. Ain't this one purdy!!!

August brought a little accident to the family. My wonderful Mom broke her hip and although that was horrible, something wonderful came out of it. I started spending more time with mom and our relationship changed. She is one of my best friends now and I Love her to pieces. This project was my favorite for August. A beautiful stamp from I Brake for Stamps. I paired it with some great papers from Lily Bee Designs.

September was back to school month and both our monkeys were excited about it. They are growing up a little more every day ~sigh~. I started to think about doing a Life List Journal thanks to a great friend Tracy. This is the front cover of the journal and my favorite project for September. All put together with my love an Helmar love too!

October brings Halloween hehehe. I love Halloween and created a neat little tag using some Glimmer Mist and some Fancy Pants. I think every time I say the word Fancy Pants, I grin ear to ear. Love this company.

November already??? Christmas is right around the corner but I'm still stuck on Halloween.I love autumn colors and decided to create a large canvas piece using some of my favorite pieces from Basically Bare. This piece is proudly displayed on the main level of our home for everyone to see.

The end of the year is here and with that brings December, snow and family. Christmas was simply perfect and I'm so blessed to have my health, my loving family, and a new appreciation for my husband.

December brings out the kid in me and I so enjoyed this 1st little piece using purdy glitter and Helmar. The second little ornament is made from those super sweet little Dew Drops from The Robins Nest. Man am I excited to be a part of this team now.

Well there ya have it, My ode to 2011. I truly am blessed to have each of you in my life and along for the journey. We have many things in common even though we may not think so. Thank you for being there, for giving me a reason to get up and go some mornings and for sharing your lives with me. Until next year...

A Vintage Noel Card

What can I say, I'm a Timmy fan and his 12 tags of Christmas always gets my attention. So when that first tag came out, I had the perfect piece of canvas goodness to create it with. Hi everyone, I'm here today to share with you my take on Tag 1 this year.

For this card I used the smallest canvas banner and first sprayed it with Vanilla Breeze Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist. Before it was completely dry, I stamped the banner with a postage stamp I have. The ink ran to really give a vintage feel. LOVE IT!!! Pretty Pretty Pretty I say

I love how easy it is to fold and manipulate these canvas pieces. To create the dimension, I used Helmar Liquid Scrap Dots. This helped lift the folds to give them that height I was looking for.

Isn't the color of that banner sweet? Against all that cool winter colors, it really gives the card a POP. Now take a look at those beautiful silver flower embellishments. The so reminded me of pointsettias, so out they came. They are from Creative Charms and went perfectly on this card. In the Antique Flower Medley pack, there are both gold and silver flowers. YUMMO!!!

One more picture hehe, showing the banner and flower a little closer. You can also see the Glimmer Mist on the foliage too.

The perfect additions to any Vintage card I'm positive. These canvas banners and Vintage Flower Medleys are so pretty to work with and I love how the end result always blows my mind.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. Let me know what you think. I adore your comments here on the blog, so don't be shy!!!

Until Next Time

A Large Steampunk Canvas to Share

I've been sitting on these amazing gears from Basically Bare since I first got them. Knowing that they would become a part of a canvas, just waiting for the full idea to come to fruition. Then it struck!!!! and let me tell you, out of all the things I've created since I started crafting, this is my favorite by far.

Hi everyone, I'm here today to share with you a large canvas piece I created using Bare Basics Gears set 1 and 2 as well as the bricks from the Climbing Ivy Set. First off for the gears, I've embossed them using a few different colors and also masked a few of them, to create dimension. The bricks have been painted with Glimmer Mist and for the mortar I used Glass Bead Medium.

With a few of the gears, I've double embossed to really give texture. You can see that in the photo below.

You'll also see that I've used a few different colors on the gears to give them a vintage /rusted feel.

I absolutely love how the bricks turned out. I used a combination of Marmalade, Harvest Orange, and Coffee Shop Glimmer Mist on them.

Yum yum yum!!!This canvas, although quite large, was so fun to create. I wanted a real industrial feel with just a touch of whimsy, hence the feathers and butterflies. To make this whole project come together, I used Helmar 450 Quick Dry Adhesive, Helmar Liquid Scrap Dots and Helmar Premium Craft Glue.

Thank you so so very much for stopping by today. I'm honored to be able to show you some different things you can do with the Basically Bare embellishments. Possibilities are truly endless.

Until next time
