Unity September Guest Designer Layout and Susan Weckesser Stamps

Hello everyone, I hope that you are all enjoying the first true days of Autumn. The leaves are all changing and the colors outside are stunning. I'm here today sharing a layout I created with some amazing Susan Weckesser stamps from Unity.

For this layout, I used a combination of A Little Bit Washi, ABC 123 Washi, Insta-Cute and a co-branded Simple Stories Set called Splatters and Stars. I embossed all the images using Wow embossing powder and everything came together using Helmar Adhesives. Here are a few close ups of the layout.

Yes, that is a cheese head you see. My husband is a huge Packers fan, and our son thought this "hat" was too fun!!! Don't judge!!!! *snort*

I'm loving how these stamps layer over top of each other and adore how well the Wow Embossing Powder allows me to do this.

And here is the final project, full of Susan Weckesser stampy goodness!!!

If you love creating mixed media projects of any sort, these stamps are AMAZING!!!! Check them out and grab a few of your favorites from the Untiy store. You will be so glad you did. Also, Take a look at Susan Weckessers Design Team call going on right now. Try out and you may have an opportunity to work with Susan and her wonderful designs.

Miracle Star-Wow Embossing Indeed

Hello everyone and Happy Back to School Week. This year, our little girl is in Kindergarten 3 days a week, so I've got a little me time to do things. Yesterday was her first day, and she absolutely LOVED it. Gotta love when your children love school, and we are so blessed to have both of them in that mind set.

Today, I'm sharing with you a project I created for the Wow Embossing Powders blog and I truly think it is my favorite project to date. I created it using a lot of double embossing and I think it will become our new tree star for Christmas. If you want to see more of the project and see what supplies I used, hop on over to the Wow Embossing Powder blog to see.

When it comes to card stock, sometimes it is hard to find the perfect match for your projects. Yup I struggled with this ALOT, until I found Core'dinations cardstock. This stuff is truly beautiful to work with and since I do have a soft spot for distressing, there truly is none better!!!

Today I've decided to take the plunge for a shot at the Core'dinations Card Designer Call. Yes I know that I've been making a bunch of layouts and mixed media pieces, but I started this journey with a love for card making, and that has never gone away. I am going to share with you today, a few projects I've created and hopefully these projects with catch the eyes of the good peeps at Core'dinations.

The second project is this wonderful card, where I used Forest Moss Distress papers

Last but not least is this layout I created using a combination of Cordinations papers. I love how well they heat emboss and those frayed edges....SWOON!!!!!

May Arts Ribbon Design Team Application

It is no secret that I'm a huge ribbon fan. It started when I was on the first design team for Really Reasonable Ribbon and it has just grown. So today, I'm throwing my name in the hat in hopes that I'll be a Ribbonista.

May Arts is my favorite manufacturer of ribbon and I must say, I own a lot. But is there such a thing as too much ribbon? I think NOT. So today I'm sharing with you a few projects I've created using different types of ribbons. 2 which you have not seen and a favorite of mine that you may have. So here we go.

This first project, I created when I was on the Really Reasonable Ribbon team and to this day, my little girl loves wearing this. It is an easy thing to create and I will be making many more of them to come.I used 3 colors of grosgrain ribbon to create the headband.

Next up, a Canvas I created using lace, embossing powders and chipboard. This canvas is an 8 x 10 piece and the lace is used to add color and accent to the rest of the piece.

Last, I've got a fun video tutorial to share with you where I created a Faux Marble Frame. Bakers Twine is a huge trend right now and has been for a while. The quick and simple double bow is perfect for finishing off any project.

Here is a photo of the finished project for you.

You can find a few other ribbon posts about ribbon that I've done like  This Easter Tree .  Then there is this Ribbons Border tutorial I did for Gingersnap Creations

Thanks so much for stopping by today. If you haven't seen some of the beautiful ribbons and trims May Arts carries, go take a gander at Ribbonista Heaven. Some beautiful products are there for certain.

Imagine a layout Filled with Blog Candy!!!

It has been a whole week since I posted ACK!! It's funny how sometimes time just flies and suddenly it is the beginning of June. JUNE!!!! Only 6 more weeks til CHA,, 1 1/2 till Fathers Day, 4 till school is out for the Summer. This year is speeding on by Ferrari style. I think I need to take some time today to create. There is something so soothing and relaxing about playing with papers, glue and embellishments.

Speaking of playing with papers, I have a layout to share with you today. This layout uses the Rustic Collection from FabScraps. The colors and images on these papers are beyond scrumptious. Teals, greens and browns are perfect for a little boy layout don't ya think? I used a combination of 002, 003, and 004 papers, paired up with some awesome card stock colors from Bazzill (Safari, Hillary, Avalanche and Real Teal). I got out my trusty Prima edger distresser tool and got to work. The flowers are from the Rustic Paper Flower die cut pad and are super easy to create.

The Imagine chipboard piece is also from Fabscraps. I inked it up with some Quick Quotes inks then used Wow Embossing Powder in Clear to give it a glossy look. Love how this title turned out.

Here is the entire layout. I hope you enjoy.

Well that is it for today. I think I'm going to give away a little box of goodies today. Filled with DewDrops, Chipboard and a few Mini Albums. Leave a comment today and I'll select a winner next week. Let your friends know too.

Wow Embossing and Quick Quotes Papers- masculine scrapbook layouts

It is no secret that I love the earth tone collection of embossing powders from Wow Embossing Powders. I think it is the cook in me, with names like nutmeg, pepper and honey, how can you not like them right?

Hello everyone, I'm here today to share with you a scrapbook layout I created using Quick Quotes Tin Type papers and the earth tone collection from Wow (with a little Copper thrown into the mix). I'm so lucky to be a recurring Guest Designer with Quick Quotes and I will have my first project up on the Quick Quotes blog on the 16th of March. So stop by and check it out. (it is a Steampunk Mixed Media canvas)

I used these embossing powders for stamping, masking and to highlight the chipboard alpha letters. First a photo of the letters. I used Bloody Mary Powder Puff ink, then the copper.

For the envelope, I decided to emboss the entire thing. (the envelope was originally white with red polka dots) Then I used the postage stamp from Wow to add a little more interest.

This next photo really shows how well Wow Embossing Powders work with masks. I used the Tim Holtz Timeworks masks to create the background paper.

Now for the final project. Do ya wanna see? are ya sure? Well here it is, a layout all about our sons dreams. He wants to build his own hotel then be the chef in the restaurant. Gotta love dreams!!!

Thanks so much for stopping by today. I have some exciting news to share with you tomorrow morning. It is FAB-U-LOUS!!!

Valentines Day Altered Cigar Box and Wow Embossing Powders

Happy Valentines Day everyone. Today is a day filled with chocolates, valentines cards and people we love. A day to craft with your children and do something special for your spouse.

Yup, I'm a fan of the Hallmark holiday known as Valentines Day and today I'm sharing with you the Altered Cigar Box project I've created for the WOW Embossing Powders Valentines Week Hop. If you haven't been following along this week, make sure you take a moment and check out the creations so far.

I wanted to create something special for my husband and thought what better thing than an altered cigar box. My husband is a fan of a good cigar, so the item kinda jumped out at me. For this altered cigar box, I used Whirly Pop, Cable Car Red and Gold Ultra High embossing powders. These embossing powders work fantastic on wood, plexi and flowers and to prove it, I've got pictures!!!!

First of a close up of the Gold Ultra High on chipboard. I love this stuff!!! Such a crisp emboss when it has been heated. No bubbles!!!!

Next I masked a chipboard heart and used both Whirly Pop and Gold Ultra High. Pretty Pretty I say...

For the front plexi part of the box, I used Whirly Pop and Gold Ultra High again. I wanted a really distressed look, so took a fan brush to some of the powder before heat embossing it.

With me still? Now the entire cigar box itself was embossed using a combination of Whirly Pop and Cable Car Red. I love these two colors together. Perfect for a Valentine project indeed.

Now for the entire shadow box. I added the flowers using Helmar 450 Quick Dry and Helmar Liquid Scrap Dots to give dimension. The burlap and papers were from the January Dixie Pieces Kit Be Mine, The rub-on in from The Robin's Nest.I hope you like it.

Think he'll like it? Probably would love it if it had a few Cuban cigars in it for sure haha. Well, thank you so so very much for stopping by today. Make sure you leave a comment, because I'm pretty sure at the end of this Wow Valentines Hop week, there is a Wowtastic Prize. Hope you all have a fantastic day filled with love

Until next time
