TAAFOMFT June 30th Challenge

Hello Everyone and happy Tuesday. I hope that all of you had a fantastic long weekend.

This week marks the last challenge over at the TAAFOMFT blog and the challenge is "favorite collection" So as an ode to the wonderful Miss Julie, I decided to create a favorite collection of favorite things for the challenge. That was a mouth full wasn't it lol.

I decided to created a layout that does not include a photo. Instead, I used the lyrics from the wonderful Sound of Music song instead as the focal point. I'm so loving all the little embellishments I created to go with the beautiful papers from Pink Paislee. Anything with butterflies (like the Butterfly Garden collection) are a love of mine for certain. From the brown paper package tied up in string, to the white dress with blue satin sash. For the dress, I used the Dress me Up dress form from Basically Bare and added a good helping of both Bridal Glitter and Moonrise Glitter Tinsel .

I love the richness that these glitters have added to the dress form. I also used some Organic Garden Glimmer Glam on the Cosmo Cricket mittens to tie in with the colors. All that dimension on the layout is created using Helmar Liquid Scrap Dots. Positively the best dimensional adhesive out there.

So if you haven't made your project for the new challenge at TAAFOMFT, take a few moments today and create about your favorite collection. And Julie, I just want to take a moment to tell you that I'm beyond honored to have been a part of your challenge site. I've been blessed to create for you. Thank you again *hugs*

Until next time

TAAFOMFT May30th Challenge-Favorite Childhood Toy

Hello everyone and Happy Memorial Day weekend to all of my US friends.

Today TAAFOMFT has a new challenge up. The design team members created layouts based on their "favorite childhood toy" and I decided to do a little spin on it. When I was growing up, there was one thing I always had by my side. I'd sleep with it, have it sit beside me at the dinner table and it would always be waiting for me at the bus stop. And yup that is a little Erika in the one photo hehe.

Deja was my German Shepard and I so loved him. I still think about him almost every day and he truly was my best friend for so many years. He let me dress him up in clothes, he'd crawl up the haystack and slide down with me (although a little reluctant) and he would snuggle with the best furry snuggles ever.

I created this layout using a cheery collection from Nikki Sivils called We Are Family, which I though was a perfect pairing to this project. The papers on the layout were adhered using Helmar Premium Craft Glue with a little help from Helmar 450 Quick Dry Adhesive . I added the embellishments onto the layout using Liquid Scrap Dots (my favorite dimensional adhesive).

You can get the bakers twine from Really Reasonable Ribbon and it is available in a variety of colors for every project.

So how about you take a shot at creating a project about your "Favorite Childhood Toy" and enter the challenge for a chance to win a great little prize. If you enter the challenge and come back here to tell me, I will send out a little package of ribbon to 2 lucky people.

Hope you all have a fantastic day.

These are a Few of My Favorite Things New Challenge

Hi everyone and Happy Thursday to all of you . This week, I'm running on vapors since our little girl has been so sick. We finally got her into the clinic and got test results back yesterday and the poor lil bug has Strep!!! So medication started today and we are hoping for a quick bounce back.

The new challenge is up at These are a Few of My Favorite Things and it is a good one. Scrap your favorite Scrappy Tool!!! How does one pick just one thing right? For me it was a no brainer for I use this with absolutely EVERY PROJECT I create. I've tried others, but nothing works as well as this GLUEY GOODNESS. My favorite scrappy tool you ask? Helmar Adhesives: sweet and simple. So here is my layout featuring a bunch of different Helmar Adhesives in my "ODE TO HELMAR"!

The Acrylic Heidi Swapp clock face is adhered with Helmar V2 Vellum Adhesive. I love how this stuff works on acrylic. The perfect clear finish!!!For the ribbon rose, I used Helmar Quick Fix Adhesive on a large grungeboard circle. The papers got a helping of Premium Craft glue, and the photo sticks to everything with Acid Free Craft Adhesive. Yup, I couldn't craft without my Helmar Adhesive!!!

Take your shot at creating a layout about your Favorite Scrappy Tool and have your chance to win a great prize this challenge. Hop on over to TAAFOMFT blog and see all the wonderful creations the design team came up with.

Until next time

Favorite Feature at TAAFOMFT

Happy Wednesday everyone. Man is it CCCCCold here -29 with the windchill = BRRRRRRRR. I'm starting to find myself wishing for summer. Beaches, marguaritas, shorts ahhhhh. To dream right???

Speaking about dreaming, my first project as a Design Team Member with "These are a Few of My Favorite Things" challenge blog. I've followed this challenge site for a while, and I'm beyond honored to be a part of the team. If you have never taken a boo at this challenge site, you just have to take a moment to check it out. 2 times per month, a prompt for creating is given and the new challenge is all about "YOUR FAVORITE FEATURE".

I just had to pick my ringlets. I've had a LOVE/HATE relationship with my hair for a very long time, but now embrace this crazy hair. Here is the layout that I created for the challenge.

These papers are some of my absolute favorites. I so adore Paper Trunk, and this collection "Rockabilly" is so me!!! I think I should have been a teenager when Rockabilly was big. The likes of Buddy Holly and Elvis...does it get any better??? The flowers are a combination of Prima Vine and Petaloo. I love this layout and I hope you do too.

Now I've got a little challenge for you. Since we are talking about FAVORITE THINGS, if you become a follower of the Favorite Things Blog and enter a piece for this challenge, I will personally collect a few of my favorite SCRAPPY THINGS to give away to one lucky crafter. All you have to do is Follow the TAAFOMFT blog and enter the Favorite Feature challenge, then let me know you have and I'll throw your name into a hat for a little RAK of scrappy goodness. Oh lets make this a choice. If you do the challenge I will throw in extra goodies, but of you follow the TAAFOMFT Blog and let me know, that will be perfect.

Now hop on over to the TAAFOMFT Blog and follow along!!!

See you soon

Ballpits are so STINKIN FUN!!!!

Hi everyone. Happy Weekend to all of you. Today is a real quick post to share my latest project created with Nikki Sivils goodness. I used quite a few different collections including Max and Mollie, Summer, It's Raining Its Pouring and Bella Blue and Oscar Too.

I so adore how this layout tuned out and I'm absolutely SMITTEN  with the big Grosgrain bow. A few weeks ago, my husband and the children and I went to a play center in the city and our daughter fell head over heels with the ball pit. I couldn't help but scrap these pictures.

The ribbon is available at Really Reasonable Ribbon and is called Circus Dot Bright Pink in 1 1/2"
I also tried a new product out called Pearl Pens, and now I need to get them in EVERY color. These things are so stinkin cool.

Here is a close up of the layout for you. It really shows the dimension that the Helmar Liquid Scrap Dots creates. If you haven't purchased this stuff yet, you just need to.

Well, that is all for today. Don't forget  to check out the Spring Theme challenge over at the Really Reasonable Ribbon Blog as well as the Design Team Call.

Also there will be a new challenge over on the TAAFOMFT blog in a few days, and my first project as a Design Team member will be up.

Until next time
