Hey there world, how have ya been? Things have been getting back to normal here is small town Saskatchewan and it is great being able to create again. It is funny how much I miss crafting and depend on it for tranquility. Do you have something that brings you that peace?
When I was down at CHA, I just loved looking at projects in the Fancy Pants Designs booth. I've loved this company for a while and the new collections are no different.
Today I've got a card to share with you, using the About a Girl Collection. This collection is full of some of my favorite things. Bright colors, flourishes, whimsical flower, and distress, all make their ways into this fantastic bit of heaven.
It reminds me a bit of the 80s and getting creative mojo flowing, happened as soon as I took these pretties outta the bag.
Just the perfect blend of sweet, whimsy and femininity. I giggled when I read the rub-on sentiment I used. For the card, I used Liquid Scrapdots, Premium Craft Glue and 450 Quick Dry Adhesive. All Helmar products and available at one of my favorite online stores Scraptastic.
To see another Fancy Pants project of mine, hop on over to the Helmar Blog and leave some love.
Hope you are all enjoying your week.
Leave a comment and let me know what your favorite part of 80's fashion was, and I'll pick one lucky person for a little box of goodies.

What a sweet card Erika!
ReplyDeleteWasn't the 80s the "not-so fashionable" decade? *LOL* I love looking at my mother's photos then though...big hair and shoulder pads...definitely gotta have attitude to carry that off! ;)
Ha! What a fun card! :D 80's fashion, eh? *shudder* LOL Let's see...I wore parachute pants which I thought were so rad, I totally teased my bangs for that Def Leopard groupie look AND wore Sebagos. Ah, what a time! LOL
ReplyDeleteDefinitely the shoulder pads. So glad they are out of style. LOL

ReplyDeleteHi Erika! What a fun card! I'd have to say the big hair from the 80's...I look back at pics of myself and wonder, Oh, what was I thinking?! Oh well, I guess we all suffered from that madness! lol :)
ReplyDelete80's fashion had to be the white shirts with black writing....aka george michael.......sigh...i loved him......

Oh goodness....I shudder now at the 80's fashion! It would have to be the big hair!
ReplyDeleteI liked the fluorescent colours. I had a great pair of multicoloured shorts and it was a sad day when they didn't fit anymore.
ReplyDeleteGreat sentiment!

ReplyDeletemy fave part of 80's fashion was the cut sweatshirts off the sholder with a tank top hanging out! so rad, dude!
I love the card!!! And the colors!!! And my 6 year old LOVES the saying!!! lol....I would have to say my fave part of the 80's besides our AWESOME slang! Like,TOTALLY, TO THE MAX and COOL BEANS DUDE!!! Would have to be the mini skirts with leggings! LOL....so much fun...and tight skirts with big, baggy shirts (like tunics)in fun colors and patterns or baggy pants with tight tops....and a cut off, neck and sleeves cut out sweatshirt over it....lol...so cool....thanks for the walk!
ReplyDeleteThis is a super cute card and I always used to tell my DD that when she was little. I should remind her of it because I almost forget myself until I saw your card! haha That's why I scrap you know, my horrid memory!! Just like I keep forgetting you are from Saskatchewan just like me!! haha
ReplyDeleteJump Suits! I had one in flowers, stripes, even with khaki and large stovepipe legs! It was next to impossible to go to the bathroom wearing them! (sorry TMI)
ReplyDeleteI am an 80's lady and I had the greatest time of my life back then. I remember going to the Sonic and the girls served on roller skates.lolol The higher your hair was the closer you were to GOD. :) The blue eyeshadow was really big and leggings were the bomb! We all walked the streets and hung out without anyone bothering us. You can't do any of that now, people have gone crazy! Like I said those were the best days of my life and memories that I can never forget even if I live to 100 I will never loose those memories.
ReplyDeleteCan I just mention what I remember as 80s fashion without admitting it my favorite ;) ?
ReplyDeleteRemember the big hair, long shirts with wide black belts cinched at the waist w/bright colored leggings/tights w/heels! Definitely bright colors like your card!
I loved the bright colors! Everything else, like shoulder pads, not so much! Love your card! and your blog! TFS and inspiring!
