This post will stay at the top until January 31st, so please scroll down to see some new stuff!
It has been 1 year since i started my blog and what a year it has been. I have been so blessed to have such a wonderful group of followers both through the blog and through different readers. Every day I post, I think about your wonderful comments and I hope that I'm giving you a blog that is interesting to visit. Today is Blogoversary time and to celebrate, i have quite the Blogoversary candy up for grabs. But before we get to that I just have to share my newest creation. It took over a year to jump into this boat, but I'm so thankful that I did, and I hope that you will all enjoy this new creative venture....
A scrapbook page! Whodda thunk that was going to happen
What a fun thing to do, although the time to do a layout is much larger than that of a card lol. What do you all think? I do have to say thankyou to an online friend Tara Orr for pushing me a little to finally take the scrapbook plunge. So Thank you Tara.
Now onto the Blogoversary Candy.
Here is how this will work. The Blog candy will be up for grabs until January 31st. There are 3 parts I'd like you to do.
#1- become a follower- Knowing who my audience is, is so important to me so thank you for this. You can become a follower by clicking the follow button or by subscribing to the newsletter of by whichever reader you use.
#2- Leave a post on YOUR blog letting people know about my blog and the blogoversary candy. If you don't have a blog, no worries. Tell a friend, mention it on Twitter or Facebook.
#3- Leave a comment on this post answering this question- What would you like to see on my blog? What changes? Do you want to see more techniques, tutorials, pictures of my family and life, more writing about whats going on in Erika World. A different look? Setup? widgets? Maybe you have a suggestion, an idea, something that would make this blog even better. Your ideas and thought matter a WHOLE BUNCH and I want to make sure that my audience loves coming to visit.

Christine

Happy Blogirthday Erika!! I really like your blog.. the only thing I'd like to see different, is if you do a detailed technique, to do a separate post with detailed instructions on it. Honestly, there have been a couple of times in the last year, you've sort of explained things, but I never understood it enough to try the technique.
ReplyDeleteKaren G (BC)

I've seen give-aways before but this goes way beyond what I've seen. I am now a follower. As I've roamed around your blog(and it's only 1 yr old)...well, I don't think you could add anything to make it any better. I love it and like you I have never done a layout but your's rocks!!!

Happy Bloggiversary!!! Love the blog candy! Following you and all!!! WOuld love to see more Technique Tutorials (especially since you have finally taken the scrapbooking plunge!)
ReplyDeleteWell this is one heck of a Prize package!! I became a follower not just for the prize but I'm liking the concept of you blog. My suggestion is make it your own. If you are true craft and scrapbook lover and have tons of info to share, then I would leave tips and ticks, pages and links to what you like, link things to what you find. More or less bring the reader into your world. Let them read what you read, let them make what you make, and let them know what you know. That is how I play my blog!! I let my readers know tid bits of everything, from my personal life to finding something grand on another blog. To support one another is to me crafting it foward!! So change your decor of your blog according to the holiday or season, add blinkies and links and everything that catches your eye tell and about it. Simply, invite the reader into your crafting world. That is best advice I have found, which has worked for me!! Here is a link to my blog. www.scrapjournalofangela.blogspot.com run over and check it out!! But simply make it about you down to you favorite color. Ask yourself, what is it that surrounds you the most besides your family that makes your crafting diva come out? When you answer that question then you will know where to start!!
ReplyDeletehappy bloginvesary, I am a follower now :)
ReplyDeleteI could defenetly could use techniques and tutorials, thanks

I have been visiting your blog for a while now and love your work. I am an artist, photographer and Art therapist, who is new to scrapbooking and ATC but loving learning. i live in London, UK. You are so passionate about your art and your life. You teach intelligently and are easy to listen to. Your site appears to really belong to you. By that l mean you have stamped your own personality on it. These days l find people expect and feel closer to the artist if there are videos. They like to know what make of stamps, paper ect do you use, where do you get them and which are your favorite sites. They like tips and short cuts and also like to know some thing about you as a person and an artist. I also find if l talk about my mistakes or failures in my art, it makes you seem more human and like the people who are visiting you. Oh l have gone on haven't l..sorry. My family tease me all the time about talking too much. I just love life and my art and the world is so full of interesting things!Ha. Anyway, congrats on your first year and may you have hundreds more! I will be very happy for but l have to admit, a bit jealous of ,who ever wins your amazing and generous give away but heres to the winner. x lynda
Congratulations!

Happy Blogaversary, Erika! I became a follower before your anniversary in the blogging world. Just want to say that I love your blog--the design, colors, most of the content---I'm a scrapper more than a card maker and I would like to see more of your 'scrapping' work. ReplyDeleteLove your LO,I think the cardmakers are natural scrappers, they know how to design a smaller space and then progress to bigger size with ease.
Not sure what I can advice regarding your blog, I think it is very personal experience to run a blog, and surely you are the best one to know what to write or display. I'm sure whichever way/method you choose, it will be reflecting your personal original style and techniques. Cheers!

I have linked you in my sidebar.
Hi Erika
ReplyDelete1> I've been a follower for a while now :)
2> I've linked you up on my sidebar
3> I think you've found the perfect balance with your blog and I don't think you need to change anything. However, what I love best are the techniques. There's always something to learn. I also love hearing about what *doesn't* work, or things to avoid. Life is too short to make every mistake by yourself, so it makes sense to learn from others' mistakes too, LOL!!
Thanks for the chance to join in your generous giveaway.
Hi - Thank you for this chance. I am really new to all of this, but I really enjoy tutorials. They help so much (especially for a someone that has no idea what to do, or how to start.) I don't have a blog, but I will e-mail a friend as soon as I am done posting this comment to tell her about your blog and blog candy. Thanks, Chris Kerksieck
ReplyDeletee-mail: bckerksieck@yahoo.com
