GCD May Spotlight Gal

Hello Everyone and welcome to my blog. Today I'm sharing my first project as one of the May Spotlight Gals for GCD Studios. I absolutely fell head over heels in love with GCD as soon as I started making cards. I still remember that first piece of GCD paper that went through my fingers. It was the Mosaic Hearts. The texture, the quality, the YUMMO factor!!! Undeniable. I think, looking back, that it was GCD that started my.... shall i say addiction.

Today, I'm sharing with you a project that i've made using the Artsy Urban collection. This line is stunning, and I love creating with it. I love adding a LOT of patterns into my projects and this is no exception. I'm all about the texture. So without further adieu, here is my first Spotlight Gal project.

I've used this weeks Mojo Monday Sketch for this card. Couldn't pass it up hehe
You can see more GCD creations at the GCD Studios Blog and on their Facebook Page.

Pssst, i used a whole bunch of Helmar with this card. Adhesive Runner, Craft Glue and Zap Dots.

Mother's Day the Apron Way

Oh the weather outside looks frightful..... Gotta love Snow in May, the joys of living in Rural Saskatchewan I think haha. How is everyone today? The kids and I are off to Calgary to spend Mothers Day with my mom and we couldn't be more excited. Our boy told Gramma this morning and I think I heard both of them squeal.

So to celebrate Mother's Day, I'm sharing a little card I did for Frantic Stamper. I don't do shape card very often, but found a few wonderful templates out there {You can find one at Anna's place- my favorite spot for dipping my toes in the country}. The card is created using Cosmo Cricket Early Bird collection and I think this one is just darling. When I was a little girl, my mom always wore the cutest aprons in the kitchen and i remember that fondly.

So here it is. Happy Mother's Day Mom. We love you

One last little bit this morning. Just wanted to let any of my readers that are down in the south dealing with tornadoes, flooding and the like, that my thoughts and prayers are with you and your families.

Sweet Cherry Pie

There is something so wonderful about glitter. It adds that little bit of panache to a project and you can really personalize your chipboard using it.

I used Helmar 450 Quick Dry adhesive on the chipboard piece and applied one color of glitter at a time. I love how nicely the Art Institute glitter looks on the 450 Quick Dry. I applied all the brown, then green, then red. Love how it takes a raw piece of chipboard and pushes it into Divaland!!! Sure helps when the chipboard is Magistical Memories. It really is Magistical!

I love the end result. Thought I'd keep the rest of the card fairly simple to really let that Bubble Borders shine. Love how the Nikki Sivils papers just light up with this combination. What can I say, I'm on a cherry kick!
Try your hand at glittering up your next chipboard piece. You'll be super excited about the end recent.

Queen Kat Designs Blog Hop Monday

Hello Everyone and Happy Monday. It is another installment of Queen Kat Monday Blog Hop, and today I get to start sharing with you the amazing May Kit. It is chalk full of Cosmo Cricket goodness and I have had so much fun creating with it.

If you are following along on the hop, you should have popped by here via Terri's Blog . If this is your first stop, hop on back to the Queen Kat blog to start from the beginning.

For this weeks challenge, we had a sketch to give us some inspiration and I just love this sketch.

Isn't that a great sketch. I love the simplicity of it and how you can really use your creativity to make it your own.

Here is my take on the sketch

The colors in this months kit are absolutely amazing, and that it is full of Cosmo Cricket goodness is such a bonus. If you haven't tried a Royal Kit from Queen Kat, I strongly recommend this one. Truly a great kit.

Now off to the store to take a look at some of the new releases. There are a tonne of great images to pack up in your cart. Did you know that Queen Kat is changing over to rubber stamps? The detailing is going to be fantastic.

My favorite from the store this week.... Has to be the stamps in the May Royal Kit
A dress form, the scissors in border that my card has, and some great sentiments. Go check it out.

Until next time, thanks so much for stopping by. I so appreciate your comments.

Really Reasonable Ribbon Blog Hop and Design Team Reveal

Happy National Scrapbook Day Everyone. Today Really Reasonable Ribbon has their first Design Team Reveal Blog Hop and there is some absolutely AMAZING talent on the team. I am truly blessed to be working with such a great bunch of artists, and I hope that you take a few moments to start at the beginning of the hop to see our 1st ever DESIGN TEAM!!!

If you have been following along you should have hopped here from Cheryl's Blog
This girl has amazing talent and a serious Ribbon addiction. Just like the rest of the Really Reasonable Ribbon team.

For my project today, I've created a card using the 5/8" Jute ribbon, which I've absolutely fallen in love with. The fullness of the bows you can make with these ribbons, is fantastic and I can just see the possibilities when it comes to making flowers.

The image is painted with Distress Stickles and Distress Inks. Then on the empty space, i went over and filled it in with Glossy Accent. Paper is from Basic Grey- Green at Heart.

Now since you've made it all the way to the end of the hop, you get a little gift from Bonnie at Really Reasonable Ribbon. Everyone that finishes the Hop gets a Discount code to use this weekend for 10% off your ENTIRE order. Enter HOPSHOPSALE with your order and get some of the prettiest ribbons around for a discount. It doesn't get much better than that.

Well maybe it does get a little  better... Make your way back to the Really Reasonable Ribbon blog and let us know what project you liked the most and be entered to win the May Ribbon Club assortment. Pretty Pinks and Browns YUMMO

Thanks a bunch for stopping by today and a big Congratulations to ALL of our Design Team members. YOU ROCK!!!!

PS, I've also added this card to the Botanical Challenge over at Gingersnap Creations
