A Little Graphic 45 Goodness to Share

Yup, I've said it before, and I'm going to say it again...I LOVE Graphic 45 papers!!! The colors are all so beautiful and I think they truly are one of a kind. Today I'm sharing with you a few projects I created using my favorite "Steampunk Debutante" collection.

The first is a layout sharing a very special moment that happens every Christmas. I create something for my loving husband and halfway through the night, I sit down with him so he can open it. It is like everything else just melts away and we are there, just the two of us.

 Next this super simple card using some pieces that I fussy cut for added dimension and design. So love these colors!!!

 And lastly a favorite card of mine for 2010. That image of the girl with the gear hair is simply stunning. I cant wait to get my hands on the new Once Upon a Springtime collection. YUMMO!!!

Today is a busy day here. School, phone calls, and a TONNE of projects that need to get done for Nikki Sivils, PSA and Tattered Angels.  I've got a blog post on the new and improved Tattered Angels Blog coming up on the 16th.I hope you are all having a fantastic day.

Grade 1 here we come

Our little boy is so excited to be going into grade 1. Tonight when I was readin a bedtime story (which we do every night) he asked me what he would learn to do in grade one. My answer was

"You will learn how to read. Then you can read mommy a story and she'll read you a story and repeat repeat repeat"

His smile was so big I thought it might freeze there for a while. How sweet is that!!!???


Today I've got a couple of ATC's to share with you that I created for Gauche Alchemy. The first one is created using the emboss resist technique and a wonderful stamp from About Art Accents. I think they have some of my favorite stamps to date and I just love these silhouette stamps that About Art Accents carries. They are perfect for doing Josephs Coat techniques with. YUMMO!!!

I added a little Pink Parts and Blue Streak mixed media color kit pieces to this one.

I love creating ATC's Think I'm going to do a ballerina inspired one this week to commemorate our 3 year old daughter starting Ballet. let's all say it together..... AWWWWWW!!!!

A Gauchy Bombshell Bloghop

I made this tic tac toe board for my husband a while back and we so sheepishly call it the T and A board roflmao. Hot Hot HOT indeed. Full of flaming colors, a real bombshell and that sexy feel. What do you think? fitting of the Some Like it Hot theme?

This Canvas is created using Brick and Tiger Lily Glimmer Mists, ripped wallpaper from the 12 x 12 wallpaper pack, Gesso, Black Staz-on ink, and Omni-Gel Transfer medium. Love Love Love this canvas and the texture that the ripped and crumpled wallpaper gives. So whatcha think?

Ahhhh, the joys of home

What a fantastic trip to my first CHA. So many wonderful people, a few star struck moments and a tonne of eye candy. I met so many individuals for the very first time, and I'm absolutely positively blessed to have gotten to know each and every one of them a little bit better.

The Graphic 45 booth was breath taking and I got to chat with Candy Rosenberg a TONNE!!! This girl has talent coming outta the wazoo, and she is beyond genuine. The type of person that you just want to spend time with and get to know. If you have never seen her work before, check out this inspiring little corner of the blogosphere. HOLY DOODLES!!! Wednesday Ramblings

Hello Everyone and Happy Wednesday to all of you. Today is my second day at CHA and I just have one word for you WOWZERS!!! This place is amazing and busy busy busy.

I've got a few projects to share with you today that I've recently done for Gauche Alchemy. Let me tell ya, this group of ladies is beyond fun. I love the support and really being about to explore my own artistic flair.

Here is a journal from my Art Journal that I created for our Design Team challenge for misting. Almost everything on this page has been created by glimmer mist. Stamped images, colored areas, background, splatters and coffee rings. Gosh how I love Glimmer Mist. It really is one of my favorite things and you should see all the Glimmer Mist down here at CHA. HOLY DOODLE.

If you love Art Journals and love misting on projects, please take a look at Glenda's Blog. This girl is one of my all-time FAVORITE artists in the crafting world and her stuff will BLOW YOUR MIND!!!

My second Gauche Project is much different. I've used a bunch of pieces from their Pink Parts color kit, to create this romantic card. You can see more of the write up over at the Gauche Alchemy Blog.

Free as a Bird Gauche Challenge

Sometimes I sit and think about the freedom that a flying creature has. Go anywhere, anytime and enjoy the scenery. Unless of course there are 100miles/hour winds and torrential downpours. Then I'll choose legs over wings in a heartbeat.

Gauche Alchemy has a great challenge on right now called "Free as a Bird". Interpret as you will but if you need some inspiration, check out the Gauche Blog.

For my addition to the Gauche Girls projects, I created this plate using a very old worn out trivet. I painted the top with black gesso, then added some Fire Brick crackle paint. To create a really cool effect, when the gesso and paint were still wet, I pressed in some Punchinella. Let that dry completely, then ripped the punchinella outta the paint. You can see two different looks on my project using the same technique.

I used pieces from the Scarlet Fever, Envy Green and Black Out color kits as well as an image from the Winged Things ATC pack

Ouchless cardboard from Gauche Alchemy

We are recyclers in this household and I find that many times I am looking at how I can "repurpose" packaging. I've loved how corrugated cardboard works on layouts and paper crafts, but peeling that first layer off to expose the ridges is down right painful.

So when I got my first shipment of ouchless cardboard from Gauche Alchemy, I knew my fingers would never have to feel that pain again.

Gauche Alchemy Game piece Challenge

I love when you reach goals. I'm a very goal oriented person and when I joined Weight Watchers, I made a tonne of goals. Inches, weight loss increments, dress sizes, short, mid and long term goals. And they are coming. I'm down a few dress sizes, down 35 pounds and eating healthy. Good things to start with. now to lose 10 pounds before CHA. Think I can do it?


Today I've got a super happy card that I created using a bunch of stuff from Gauche Alchemy. We have a challenge happening over there called "Get Your Mixed Media Game On" where you have to use pieces from games like markers, play money, dice, cards etc.

Using a few of the color kits, this is what I came up with

It so reminds me of the circus somehow. The houses are cut out from Rook cards, the bow holder and the bicycle bits are a playing card cut up and the lace trim is from the Banana Hammock kit.

So if you have game pieces lying around, try your hand at this months challenge over at Gauche Alchemy. There is a great prize up for grabs plus a BONUS prize.

Green with Envy Done the Gauche Way plus a Layout

Happy Thursday everyone. Hope you are having a great day so far.

Have you ever created a monochromatic project before? I don't do them often, but i find that every time I do, I'm always loving the outcome. Today I have a sweet card to share with you using the Envy Green Color Kit from Gauche Alchemy. These sweet color kits are chalked full with great little trinkets and treasures. Every time I open one, I'm amazing at the contents. Truly scrumptious and so darn stinkin versatile for any crafter. Pop on by the Gauche Art Fire Store and take a boo.

Ain't she purdy? I so enjoy the color Green. Kinda warms my heart and makes me feel like a child again. What is your favorite color and why?

Also I have a layout to share with you that I created for Scrapping the Music Challenge Blog. It is featured for their new prompt from one of my favorite movies. Bombshell Gauche Under the Sea Project

Hello Everyone and Happy Tuesday to you all. On the weekend I did a tutorial over at the Bombshell Stamps forum on an altered art piece for a masculine occasion. My Husband and I sat down on Saturday night and were chatting about the project over wine. I was stuck, but he gave me some fantastic ideas, and this is the end result.

Here are a few close-ups for you. I used a bunch of the goodness that comes in the Gauche Alchemy Color Kits and I think this is most definitely my favorite project yet. It really came together, thanks to Mark.

Gauche Girl gets Cross

Hi Everyone and Happy Friday to all of you. Over the past few days, I've had some projects up at Gauche Alchemy and I wanted to take a few minutes to share it with you. The first is a piece I created for the Mixed media Mama's challenge. Go on over and enter a project all about being mom, rules of motherhood, or anything that relates to Momminess. you could win an awesome Acme kit and you have until May 30th to enter.

I created a "taboo" door marker and I so laughed about this once it was done. I used the "Hot for Teacher" theme kit as well as the Purple People Eater and Black Out Color kits. Then finished the project off with some Punchinella.

Next I created an Altered Piece for one of my regular posts. I decided to alter a wooden cross that I had, and I truly love how this one turned out. For the cross I used ripped up pieces from the Wallpaper Kit . The color kits are It's All Gravy, Pink Parts and Wedding Night . if you love using unique and different pieces on your layouts, cards, altered art and mixed media pieces, you've gotta grab a few of these kits. The price is amazing and the content is awesome.

A tisket a tasket a wallet for your basket

Hi Everyone and happy Friday to all of you. Today Gauche Alchemy has started our new Design Team Theme Day. how fun is that. Design Team members will create a project and share it with all of you. This month our theme was to create a wallet from this tutorial over at Replayground.com

From one Saskatchewanite to another (I'm from Creighton, SK). Here's my 2 cents: Camera: I use a Fuji S1000fd (model from 2 yrs ago). I can't justify an SLR, so this is the next best thing. It has manual and automatic settings, 2 macro modes, and a 12x optical zoom, all for $236 CDN at my local Wal-Mart. Eco-friendly: We use a water cooler, so no plastic bottles for landfill or recycling. Also, I keep three reusable shopping bags attached to my purse and about a half dozen more in the car, so unless it is something like meat products, I never need plastic bags. I also used to leave my PC on 24/7, but now I shut it down when I'm done using it (a real hardship for me, trust me, LOL!) Note to self: use more ribbon 'cause it's fabulous! :)
