Ms Scraptastic 2010 Round 4- 8 x 10 photo

Hi Everyone. Wow the week is almost over. Where did it go this time? Summer is flying by and I've got a whole lot of things I want to get done.

As many of you know, I've been playing along with the Ms Scraptastic 2010 pageant at Scrap-tastic. For round 4, we had to use a large photo (8 x 10 for a 12 x 12 layout), which I was scared outta my gourd to try. But the trepidation passed and this is the creation that I entered.

I wanted to use the photo, which I took at the Calgary Zoo last summer, as patterned paper. Highlighting that one yellow tulip. What do ya think? There is a bunch of wonderful pieces from Magistical Memories on the layout. I used the Crystal Clear Wrought Iron Swirl and attached it to the layout, using the V2 Vellum Adhesive from Helmar. If you work with acrylic at all, you will absolutely love using the V2 Vellum Adhesive. I wouldn't use anything else now.

I also used the Antique Mirror and Antique Filigree chipboard pieces to finish it all off.

I made it to round 5 and I'll be showing you the layout tomorrow.

From the Heart - Pink Paislee and Helmar

This is the second post today, so make sure you scroll down to see more creations and a small giveaway

Sometimes I find myself immediately drawn to a paper line. That feeling of "I gotta have it" takes over and when I create with it, it such makes me smile. One of those lines is the Bayberry Cottage Collection from Pink Paislee. These guys know how to make the perfect collections. The colors, the texture and the patterns, are just about enough to make me burst!!!

I created this card for the Raise the Bar Challenge this week which is to use pearls. One of my favorite little embellishments for sure. I just love the texture in this card. and the "key to the heart" on the chain turned out better than I'd hoped. Yummo!!!

I used the Card Patterns sketch for this one and I think it is one of my favorite sketches from Card Patterns in a while.

Fancy Pants Its a Girl Thing

Hey there world, how have ya been? Things have been getting back to normal here is small town Saskatchewan and it is great being able to create again. It is funny how much I miss crafting and depend on it for tranquility. Do you have something that brings you that peace?

When I was down at CHA, I just loved looking at projects in the Fancy Pants Designs booth. I've loved this company for a while and the new collections are no different.

Today I've got a card to share with you, using the About a Girl Collection. This collection is full of some of my favorite things. Bright colors, flourishes, whimsical flower, and distress, all make their ways into this fantastic bit of heaven.

It reminds me a bit of the 80s and getting creative mojo flowing, happened as soon as I took these pretties outta the bag.

Just the perfect blend of sweet, whimsy and femininity. I giggled when I read the rub-on sentiment I used. For the card, I used Liquid Scrapdots, Premium Craft Glue and 450 Quick Dry Adhesive. All Helmar products and available at one of my favorite online stores Scraptastic.

To see another Fancy Pants project of mine, hop on over to the Helmar Blog and leave some love.

Hope you are all enjoying your week.

Leave a comment and let me know what your favorite part of 80's fashion was, and I'll pick one lucky person for a little box of goodies.

Ahhhh, the joys of home

What a fantastic trip to my first CHA. So many wonderful people, a few star struck moments and a tonne of eye candy. I met so many individuals for the very first time, and I'm absolutely positively blessed to have gotten to know each and every one of them a little bit better.

The Graphic 45 booth was breath taking and I got to chat with Candy Rosenberg a TONNE!!! This girl has talent coming outta the wazoo, and she is beyond genuine. The type of person that you just want to spend time with and get to know. If you have never seen her work before, check out this inspiring little corner of the blogosphere. HOLY DOODLES!!! Love ya Candy

On another note, Gauche Alchemy is sponsoring the newest prompt challenge at These are a Few of My Favorite Things "What's your favorite band" Super dooper fun with this one and I got a little time to create a project for the challenge before I left for CHA.

Here it is in all its Gauchy Glory!!!

Take a peek over at the Gauche and TAAFOMFT blogs to see so many more amazing projects.

Toodles everyone and thanks for stopping by the blog while I was at CHA.
