Queen Kat Designs Blog Hop Monday

Hello Everyone and welcome to another Queen Kat Monday Blog Hop. If you have been hopping along with us, you should have popped over here from Keely's Blog. If you haven't started from the beginning, take a moment and hop on back to the Queen Kat Blog.

This is the first hop of June and that means a BRAND NEW Royal Kit. This month's kit is filled with Basic Grey Nook and Pantry goodies. I love the vintage feel of this line and I'm so happy that I got to work with it for June. The stamps that you receive in the kit, are super sweet and you will just adore the kit.

This week our challenge was a sketch

I love the look of this sketch and had an idea pop into my mind, the moment I saw this inspiration. Here is my take on the sketch

I decided to fussy cut one of the cupcakes and really give it dimension. I made a new cupcake paper holder using one of the papers in the kit. Added some white fabric paint to the icing and some stickles for the cake part. Then finished it all off with a cherry. What do ya think? Sweet tooth cute?

The June Royal kit is quite fabulous and if you haven't ordered a kit from QKD before, this months is a great one to grab. Now hop on over to the store to see the wonderful stamps that are available. Thanks so much for stopping by today.

Until next time

Sugar Skull Bombshell card

The weekend is here and I've got tonnes of things to do. Love being busy. Last night was Weigh In at Weight Watchers, and I'm pluggin along successfully YEAH!!!

I just received my second group of stamps from Bombshell Stamps and I'm so excited to share with you this image. It is one of the Sugar Skulls sets and is absolutely beautiful. This image is from the set called Growing Hearts. For the image, I colored her in using Shimmerz paints, glaze pens and a little Copic marker to finish it off.

All of the ribbon used, is from Really Reasonable Ribbon. To make this card "stick" I used Helmar Zapdots, Fray Stoppa, and Quick Fix Adhesive Runner. This stamp just sings to me and I'm looking forward to working with it again.

What is your favorite stamp in your stash? and who made it?

Bella Blvd and Helmar Adhesive do Summertime

I think I yearn to live by the sea. There is just something so relaxing and serene about the waves lapping up onto the shore. I can dream right? Until that day happens, I can create things that are inspired by the beach and using the new Bella Blvd All Inclusive line, makes that happen easily.

When I received these wonderful papers from Bella Blvd, I had to start inking, cutting and folding. There are just so many great little details and the Alpha + Bits sticker sheets are beyond sweet!!!

I've used this weeks Card Pattern Sketch for the card and I love how this paper compliments the Jute Orange Ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon. A win win card I think.

For the card I used the Liquid Scrap Dots, 450 Quick Dry Adhesive, Zap dots and Permanent Adhesive runner all from Helmar. If you haven't tried the Liquid Scrapdots, You've gotta find some {there is a vendor list here}

I've entered this card into a couple of challenges as well. Crossing my fingers hehehe

Green with Envy Done the Gauche Way plus a Layout

Happy Thursday everyone. Hope you are having a great day so far.

Have you ever created a monochromatic project before? I don't do them often, but i find that every time I do, I'm always loving the outcome. Today I have a sweet card to share with you using the Envy Green Color Kit from Gauche Alchemy. These sweet color kits are chalked full with great little trinkets and treasures. Every time I open one, I'm amazing at the contents. Truly scrumptious and so darn stinkin versatile for any crafter. Pop on by the Gauche Art Fire Store and take a boo.

Ain't she purdy? I so enjoy the color Green. Kinda warms my heart and makes me feel like a child again. What is your favorite color and why?

Also I have a layout to share with you that I created for Scrapping the Music Challenge Blog. It is featured for their new prompt from one of my favorite movies. "Don't wanna Miss a thing" by Aerosmith. Hop on over and leave some love. While you are there, try your hand at the challenge. This is one of my Husband's and my wedding pictures. He is even more handsome today than the first day I met him.

Would you believe those flowers are made from a coffee filter? Here is a close up of them for ya.The filter and the corrugated cardboard are from the Wholey Sheet Kit and  I used  the White Wedding, Envy Green, Scarlet Fever and Blue Streak Color Kits

I've got a few other projects coming up over the next few days, including an altered Ribbon Organizer for a post over at the Clip It Up blog. I've really enjoyed being a part of the team and I'm sure you'll be able to see my vampire addiction in all it's glory with the project hehe.

Bomshell meets Fimo Clay

Hello Everyone and happy 2nd of June. I have a few things to share with you today. Firstly is my first attempt at Polymer Clay. If any of you create with this stuff on a regular basis, I would love to know your tips and tricks. For this pendant, I wanted to create something for my Sister using Bombshell Stamps. She loves big and chucky jewelry, and although this piece is not as finished as I'd like it to be, it is my first attempt, so I'm trying not to be too hard on myself.

The polymer clay was stamped with the Bombshell Spider Web stamp from the Tattoo Background Set and I really like the look. Then I made the little flower and the swirls. After the piece was put together, I dusted the entire thing with Perfect Pearls and gently misted with water to set. Then I added a few Heidi Swapp chandelier crystals and a green crystal bead in the center of the flower. Finished it off with a few pieces of Vintaj Brass and TADA!!!

This is the final result and my sister really liked it.

I used the Helmar Gemsstone glue on the center of the flower and it worked like magic!!!

Not to bad for a first attempt eh? <------the Canadian in me appeared there lol

Now onto the second little tidbit for today. A little bit ago, I was asked by Joni at Raise the Bar Challenge blog if I wanted to come on board as one of their full time designers, and I'm thrilled to say that I accepted. How fun is that!!!

Last but not least, Really Reasonable Ribbon has started challenges at their blog too. Our first challenge is to create a masculine themed card, and I would love for you to hop on over and join in the fun. You could win a gift certificate to the Really Reasonable Ribbon Store. Who doesn't love ribbon right?

Thanks so much for stopping by today. I hope you are enjoying the weather and the flowers that Spring time offers. Until next time

Buzzing by to say Hi

Hello Everyone. It's Tuesday and what a great weekend. I hope you all enjoyed your long weekend and spent time doing the things you love the most. June is finally here and I'm hoping to shop for some bedding plants over the next few weeks.

Today, I've got a bright and cheery card I created for Frantic Stamper. It uses the June Bug Collection from Basic Grey. Talk about bright and happy.

I love the Woolies stickers that a bunch of the Basic Grey collections have these days, Really full of whimsy and they sure do add dimension to your projects.

This one was a simple card to create, and is perfect for so many different occasions. I did some fussy cutting and punching and the end result is super sweet.

Speaking of plants and flowers, what are your favorite flowers to have in your garden and what Zone are ya in?

Hope to see you all back soon. June is going to be full of little surprises here, so make sure you comment often. You just never know what is up my sleeve.

Until next time
