Queen Kat Designs Blog Hop

Happy Monday everyone. Isn't that an oxymoron? Not when you start the day with some Hopping. I think that blog hopping can burn calories too. We'll just call it chair aerobics hehe.
Today I've got another sketch inspired card to share, that I created using the March Kit available at Queen Kat Designs. Super sweet papers from Upsy Daisy and a stamp set that will surely hit your sweet tooth.
Here is the sketch we used for this hop.

And my calorie free take on it
I absolutely love the lollipop stamp in the Royal Kit stamp set. For my card, I masked and stamped 3 images then colored in with Glaze pens. The center lollipop is glittered, then all three have been finished with Glossy Accents.

So here are the details. You should have hopped here from Terri's Blog . If you haven't started at the beginning, make sure you go to the QKD Blog and you will find a list of where to start.

Speaking of calories, I just thought I'd update you all on the Weight Watchers journey. I have lost 17 pounds so far and I'm feeling more energetic every day. That is over 3 bags of potatoes. Ahhhhh the feeling of success is a great one isn't it.

The Best of Times

The sun is out today, birds are chirping and I can almost smell spring in the air. I will be so happy when the snow melts and things start to grow and turn green.
Today I'm sharing with you all, my very first Magistical Memories Project. I received my design team goodies and my jaw dropped to the floor. You see, I've always love chipboard and grungeboard, but this has now turned into something much bigger than love lol. I've never SEEN so many different shapes. From Gorillas to swirls, picket fences to beetles and EVERYTHING in between.  If you are looking for chipboard, Magistical Memories is the place to go and the prices are CRAZY AMAZING!!!
I think I waited about 10 minutes after opening the box to start creating, and since my mind is on the arrival of Spring, a card made with a green base was just the start.

For this card I used the Til de Swirl (cut in two), butterfly and scalloped photo corners (cut to make border)
The butterfly is painted with Glimmer Mist, then heat embossed with a Zebra stamp and Zing embossing powder. An underlay of patterned paper adhered to the bottom finishes it off.
Both the photo corners and the Til de Swirls are painted with Ranger paint daubers in Black/Pearl.
Now doesn't this card get you in the mood for Spring and Summer? I'm looking forward to seeing the bulbs I planted last year come up through the ground and start to flower. It will be a butterfly friendly place for sure. The Best of Times

Celebrating a new job Bombshell Style

It's a wonderful day in the neighborhood, a wonderful day in the neighborhood...
Good Morning everyone and welcome to Friday. The weekend is almost here and I thought what better way to celebrate, than with some Bombshell Love.

I have just figured out how to make clothing for these amazing stamps so now they can go from "steamy" to "sophisticated" in a few easy snips of the scissors.
This is the March Sketch over at Bombshell Stamps and I thought it was super versatile. You can keep it simple, or pile the craftiness on. Every Month over at the Bombshell Forum, there are contests, sketches and great inspiration to pull from so check it out.
Since I really wanted to focus on the image and the clothing of this beauty, I decided to go Simple and that for me, can be a real challenge.
How is this for a "Congratulations on the New Job" card?
The Bombshell stamps set I used was the Cherry Bomb Set.
The extra sparkle on the dress shirt is a great paper that is really pretty to work with called Mica Metallic Anthracite and it is available at Paper Temptress.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. I hope you all have a fantastic Friday.

Origins Friend

Hello Everyone and Happy Tuesday. My flue bug is gone and I'm feeling much better. Thank you for leaving "get better soon" wishes, I really liked that.
Today I've got a little 5 1/2" x 5 1/2" card to share with you. This Origins line from Basic Grey is quickly becoming one of my favorites ever. I just love the color palette. For this one, I used the Card Patterns Anniversary sketch and I really love the banding. Another NON stamping card for me, just a few rub-ons. The sentiment is made from micro mini letters in the Origins line. LOVE IT

Now on with the show.

That wonderful cardstock the Spellbinders pendant has been punched from,is called Cappucino Mica Metallic.  It is available at Paper Temptress as are the rest of the cardstock in the card.

Hope you all have a wonderful Tuesday. I'll be back tomorrow with some more creations. Until then, Happy Crafting
