Some huge news and second post today so scroll down

Today is a really amazing day and I've got a few things to share with all of my readers. I have landed an amazing Design Team position with Scrapbook Star. I'm going to be the card / stamp DT artist. Starting in July, I will be providing Scrapbook Star Exclusive Tutorials, I'll be working with their monthly kits and an exclusive line of stamps. I'm so honored to be part of a Canadian company and I really hope I can live up to the standards this place has. They have a forum, an absolutely amazing store and a gallery that just doesn't quit. Go take a look.

Secondly, I have been asked to join the staff at SNR (Scrapbook News and Reviews). This is a great online community that has a magazine issue every month filled with amazing stuff. The members are crazy supportive and I just simply love it there. I will be taking on a few projects including technique junkie and stamping. Take a moment to check SNR out and register. I know you will just love it.

4 in 1 combo card

Holy Doodles, I've crammed 4 challenges into this card for you today. It really can be done. First this is this weeks CPS sketch challenge. I used the Color Create Cream, Chocolate and Red challenge for this week, added in The Pink Elephant circles and scallops challenge and topped it off with the Studio G #7 paper piecing. so here it goes Everyone... I have wanted to do a cupcake card for a while now, but the thought was adding on pounds, so i bit the bullet and took one for the team lol. With this card i used some great lace ribbon that I've had and just didn't know what to use it for. And I used some fabric paint to give the icing some real dimension. I added some glitter to the wet fabric paint for a little extra sprinkle and the small cupcakes on the bottom of the card are all paper pieced, iced, and glued onto painted grunge circles. (I added some glitter to these before they dried too)

Supplies:
Stamps: Polka Dot Pie-Chocolate Treats 1, Studio G cupcakes quad.
Diecuts- Spellbinder classic and scallop circle
Paper: Card stock- Very Vanilla (SU), Bittersweet collection (Basic Grey)
Accessories: Lace Ribbon, red glitter, fabric paint, Basic Shapes Grungeboard (Tim Holtz)
Coloring agents: Versafine Onyx Black, vintage photo distress ink (Ranger), Christmas red ink (colorbox), Le Plume markers, Red Pepper paint dabber (adirondack)
Tools: Scor-pal, Purple Cows 2-in-1 trimmer, postage stamp punch, corner round punch, small tipped paint brush.

Hope you enjoyed todays card. Try mixing challenges up to push your creativity into overdrive!!!

Dragon my butt

Hi Everyone and happy Friday. Today I'm sharing with you a very lose take on this weeks CPS challenge using a great Dragon stamp from About Art Accents. This stamp would make an awesome tattoo I think. but anyways, on with the show.
I did some new stuff with this card that I've NEVER done before. Last week on StampTV, they had a faux snakeskin technique that I just had to try. I used a piece of paper towel and stamped ink on both sides so it was really saturated. Then applied clear embossing powder to one side at a time, heating it, then the other side. The Dragons belly and the photo corner are both this technique. Take a stab at a technique that you've never done. There are so many sites out there that have these and a bunch of them are super easy to follow. Hope you enjoyed your stop today. I'm so glad you came by.

Supplies:
stamps: About Art Accents-Fluid Line Dragon in a Circle, Small Dragon Head
Paper: Card stock- True Black(PTI), Real Rust (SU), Black Diamonds on Gold with Good Fortune Kanji Yuzen paper
Accessories: chinese charm, Paper Towel, Bazzill border in white, Glossy Accents, Clear embossing powder
Coloring agents: Versafine Onyx Black, Tiger Lily Glimmer Mist, Photo Brown Distress ink, Desert Heat Kaleidacolor ink, black Glaze pen, Black Diamonds Stickles
Tools: Scor-pal, Purple Cows 2-in-1 trimmer, Heat Gun
