Dragon my butt

Hi Everyone and happy Friday. Today I'm sharing with you a very lose take on this weeks CPS challenge using a great Dragon stamp from About Art Accents. This stamp would make an awesome tattoo I think. but anyways, on with the show.
I did some new stuff with this card that I've NEVER done before. Last week on StampTV, they had a faux snakeskin technique that I just had to try. I used a piece of paper towel and stamped ink on both sides so it was really saturated. Then applied clear embossing powder to one side at a time, heating it, then the other side. The Dragons belly and the photo corner are both this technique. Take a stab at a technique that you've never done. There are so many sites out there that have these and a bunch of them are super easy to follow. Hope you enjoyed your stop today. I'm so glad you came by.

Supplies:
stamps: About Art Accents-Fluid Line Dragon in a Circle, Small Dragon Head
Paper: Card stock- True Black(PTI), Real Rust (SU), Black Diamonds on Gold with Good Fortune Kanji Yuzen paper
Accessories: chinese charm, Paper Towel, Bazzill border in white, Glossy Accents, Clear embossing powder
Coloring agents: Versafine Onyx Black, Tiger Lily Glimmer Mist, Photo Brown Distress ink, Desert Heat Kaleidacolor ink, black Glaze pen, Black Diamonds Stickles
Tools: Scor-pal, Purple Cows 2-in-1 trimmer, Heat Gun

A little masculine appeal today

Hi Everyone, Today I tried my shot at something a little more masculine and I now completely understand why so many others struggle with Masculine cards. I did too. This card is based on the Mojo Monday sketch as well as the color create Orange, Green and Brown challenge. Here he is in all his lack of glory lol. Hope you like it. What ideas do you have for masculine cards?

Some wonderful sugar over at De's

Make sure you take a stop over to Stampin De Va's and check out her beautiful work. She is one talented DeVa for sure.

Queen for a Day and news to share

Hello Everyone, I hope you all had a great weekend. My husband and I went on an impromptu trip stateside for a short getaway. Always nice to spend some quality time with each other. I also received some great news this weekend as well. Frances at Hearts in Touch has offered me a design team position and I am just thrilled to the max to accept. Hearts in Touch has some absolutely beautiful stamps and a bunch of new silhouette series plates that are to die for. Make sure you go on over and take a look at the Hearts in Touch blog too. The prices are wonderful and Frances is as sweet as they come.

Today I put together a few challenges for this card. Firstly it is this weeks Card Patterns challenge and I combined it with StampTV's color challenge White, Black and 1 other color. I chose a deep Merlot and It looks pretty regal to me.

I've had these links of pearls for a while now and this is the first time I've been inspired to use them. I figured that if it's fit for a queen, it better have jewels and pearls right? Although I changed the sketch up a wee bit, you can still see the elements of the design. For the image at the top of the card, I sponged 2 different colors to the Heidi Swapp damask stamp then cut it out with the nesties. purdy ain't she?

Well that is all for today. I hope you all really enjoyed this one. Leave me a comment and let me know what you think and how you are enjoying my blog or any tips. I'm always open for suggestions.
