CPS Challenge 111

Hi Everyone,
Hope you are having a wonderful Friday.  Don't forget to scroll down and enter the blog candy giveaway. Today I'm going to share with you a card I made for this weeks CPS challenge. I also did the Color Challenge over at Stamp TV with this as well (orange and yellow with red option).  For this card I did a few really cool techniques.

The first being the Emboss resist of those butterflies. I think I'm on a butterfly kick, so bare with me lol.
The card stock for the butterfly image is White PTI. I embossed the images with clear Embossing powder, then went on to make the background paper. Using the Desert Heat Kaleidacolor ink pad I sponged the different colors minus the red all over the image and surrounding card stock. Then I used a background stamp (stamping off once) with Versafine Onyx black ink in a very random pattern. The image was covered in ink, so I rubbed over the image with a paper towel and MAGIC happened. Try this technique, and you will love it. There is a great video tutorial over at Stamp TV.

Then there is this little grungeboard flower that I absolutely love. The grunge is from Tim Holtz Nature series. Firstly I painted the entire flower with Pumpkin Shimmerz and let that dry after 2 coats. Then I used a Unity Stamp from my March KOTM (topiary) to give a design on the flower. Taking an orange and yellow marker, I dabbed randomly over the entire image and sealed it with Glossy Accents and added a wee dot of Black Diamond Stickles to the center. After she dried I was pleasantly WOWED!!!

I so hope you enjoyed your stop today here at Ink Cut and Fold. Always a pleasure to have you and thanks for the amazing support.

Color Create Challenge

Today is a snow day here in Frontier. Big chunky flakes that are filled with spring water. I'm sharing with you a card that I made last night that I think is super sweet. I used the Color Create color challenge, which is chocolate, coffee and cream. This card was really fun to create and I hope you enjoy it just as much as I do. Don't forget to also enter in for my Sweets, there is a $15 gift certificate from Pez-a-Doodles in it!!!

Also MAKE SURE to check out the Pez-A-Doodles New releases event. Take a moment to figure out todays hint at Sandie's The new sets from Pez-a-Doodles are FAN-FLIPPIN-TASTIC!!! You could win some great stuff.

Now on with the show.

I tried my hand at something a little different with this card. I distress inked the embossed background with photo brown ink to really pull the chocolate and cream combo for the top part of the card. And for the first time I used a whole lotta buttons for a border so to speak. I just got these vintage buttons from Paper Trey and if you haven't purchased buttons before, Theirs are truly beautiful. Then I added some pink pearls to a few of those cute buttons to bring in just a hint of pink to the card. The coffee cup was glazed over to give it that porceline look using Glossy accents.

Supplies:
stamps: Unity Stamps March Kit of the Month-coffee on display, Polka Dot Pie-Chocolate Treats 1 Studio G-Warm and Cozy
Spellbinders: Scalloped and regular Large rectangles
Paper: Card stock-SU Basic Black, PTI White, BG bittersweet-Almond Toffee, Scrap black and white paper, embossed hand made paper
Accessories: PTI Vintage Cream and White buttons, Pink pearls, Ranger Glossy Accents,
Coloring agents: Tim Holtz Distress ink Photo Brown, Versafine-Onyx Black, Cinnamon Stickles, Coal and Coffee Shimmerz, Pink glaze pens.

a Mother's day card

I hope that all of you had a wonderful Easter. Today I thought I would share with you a card I made last night. A simple card that packs a punch in drama. I am making a few different Mothers day cards as of late because I want to send some out to women who I think are amazing mothers. So here is the latest edition.

The layout is taken from last weeks CPS sketch challenge and I decided to keep it as simple as I could. So many of the tools and toys I used, can be purchased at Pez-A-Doodle Designs... Which reminds me. Make sure you check out the girls from Pezzy's playgroup tomorrow. We have our new release party beginning with some great things to share. See if you can follow the hints. Make sure to start out at Catherine's blog tomorrow (April 13th) for your very first clue.

Now back to the card. I'm starting to embrace the simplicity of rub-ons. For months I couldn't figure out the appeal, but after getting some amazing ones from Peachy Cheap, I've finally let go to the rub-ons bug. These things are awesome. You can use them on CS, buttons, primas, grunge, chipboard, the list goes on and on.
Well, I hope you enjoyed your little stop at Ink Cut & Fold today. See you back tomorrow, when I post an Easter card lol. Didn't want that one on line until after the fact *smile*

All the supplies that are highlighted, can be purchased at Pez-A-Doodles
