Card Patterns Sketch Challenge

Hi everyone and Happy Friday to you. I've decided to change my format a little on the blog, so please let me know if you like it and can follow things a little bit better.

In doing some blog surfing, I've come across some really great color combinations, so thought I would have a crack at one that is all over the place this week. Orange and Pink. With the exception of the Very Vanilla CS, everything is from my scrap paper bins. I think I need a big Post-It saying "USE SCRAPS BEFORE ANYTHING ELSE". Those drawers can fill up rather quickly.

I grabbed a few different papers that I thought would work and but busy working. For the CS, there were 3 colors: Very Vanilla, Pumpkin Pie and Regal Rose. I used 2 different patterned papers: A striped and graphic dot/square combo. The cat image was calling my name and I tried my first shot at the "kissing" technique. but wanted a very subtle print, so just gently touched the two stamps together to give this little kitty some spots. Wanting to give the ribbon a little attitude, I added paw prints with a black glaze pen. I hope you enjoy the card. Listed below are the supplies I used.

Supplies:
SU stamps: You're the cats meow set, Hampton arts crown.
Spellbinders: Small Oval & Small Scalloped Oval Nestabilities - Die 1 and 4
Paper: Unknown scraps
Accessories: Ivory satin ribbon, orange Little Yellow Bicycle Brad
Inks: Versafine Onyx Black, Versamark Dazzle Champagne, Colorbox Orchid, Glimmer Mist Tiger Lily
Embossing Powder: Ranger Irridescent

Mojo Monday #79

Hello Everyone and Happy Tuesday to you. This week I have done the Mojo Monday Challenge and REALLY love this sketch. I've even put it in my sketch organizer. She is a real beaut, and I hope you take a crack at this sketch too. On with the show... I decided to do a cheery, happy card. I find that I am usually drawn to darker colors for the drama, but wanted to pick something on the brighter side. For the CS I used Basic Black, Very Vanilla, Old Olive and a Turquoise that I had in my scraps. This turquoise has sparkles YEAH!!! I also used a real purdy matte from the DCWV All Dressed Up Stack.
For the background on the Very Vanilla, I thought I would try my hand at making one, so I used a few different stamps. A swirl heart SU background, Flourish from Autumn Leaves, and both Cerulean Azure and Chartreuse Leaf Nick Bantock Inks. Then I colored in the hearts with a black Glaze pen. Quite pretty if I do say so myself. What do you think?
Then the flower image was stamped with Onyx Versafine on the Vanilla and layered on that sparkly Turquoise CS. I finished the card off with a Organza black bow and a Acrylic definition sticker.

Did I make the cut with this card turning out Happy? Hope you enjoyed my little creation today. Thanks so much for stopping by and...

A easter inspired card for you all

Hi Everyone. Hope you all had a great weekend. I am still on cloud 9 about my design team Position with Pez-A-Doodle, And there is something else in the works too. Today's card was inspired from the Sketches By Tamara Site. One of the blogs I follow (Olena) is always doing these challenges, so I thought I'd try my hand too. This sketch is from one a while back. #85. Hope you like it.For the CS I used Yo-yo yellow and Lavender Lace. The 4 strips of paper are from a paper stack that I have. Unfortunately I can't remember the name of the maker. Thought all these colors were pretty indicative of Easter, so away I went.
I used my very loved Nesties in both classic and scalloped square. The image was stamped 2 times on a very pale printed lavender paper that I had in my stash. I believe the stamp is a Time to Stamp Medallion. I colored in most of the medallion using a variety of markers (glitter, Le Plume and Glaze). After each was done, I layered them on the card to give visual impact.
Then to finish off the card, I used Versafine in Black Onyx on the Sentiment from SU. Behind that, a butterfly was stamped in Versamark and left to dry. Finally a metal butterfly and a brad were added to give weight to the top half. This was really outta my zone and I had to leave it till this morning, before I thought it was blog worthy lol.
I hope you all had a great weekend. Thank you all for sending me congratulations about the DT position. I really appreciate all the kind words. Until later today...
