CPS 107 challenge

Today's card is a challenge card for Card Positioning Systems. I was a big fan of this sketch and definitely wanted to take part this week. Here is the sketch. For the CS, I used Basic Black, Cameo Coral and Always Artichoke. These colors really sing to me in a combo and if you haven't made something with them before, I'm challenging you to try. I decided that I was going to use as little designer paper as possible and I think I succeeded. The small green embossed paper rectangle is it. and I wish I knew who the maker is, because I gotta get more lol.
For the stamped images, I only used stamps from the Vita Bella Stamp set, which is truly, one of my favorites. First I stamped out the small diamonds on the Coral strip, as well as the swirl leaves on the scalloped nesties rectangle(both in onyx black). The same leaves were stamped in versamark on the green panel and 2 of the large diamonds were stamped on coral and cut out. I added the Beautiful stamp on top and put together the large diamonds, green primas and black rhinestone. A piece of black organza ribbon and edging the images with silver sticker tape and this "beaut" was ready to pose for the camera.
So glad you stopped by today. I really like when you all come by for a view, a read and a coffee. Thanks again for all the comments and support. YOU ALL ROCK!!! Until next time

It's been a while

Hi Everyone and happy Tuesday. Things have been a little busy around here the last few days, but I've got a really great card to share with you. For this card i combined 2 challenges. This weeks Card Pattern Challenge and the Color Create challenge using Green and Red.I thought I would take a shot at an Asian inspired theme so here is the sketch...
I started out with Garden Green, Sahara Sand and a really pretty deep red CS. Also adding in a patterned Matte from the Far East DCWV Matte Stack. I also used an Asian print red paper on the layers. The Oval and diamond shape are from the nesties Labels1 and Ovals sets. I love the nesties and think I need to get a few of the new releases.
The image of the Dragon is one of my favorites, but unfortunately I don't have a brand to share. I got it on Ebay. Using Le Plume markers, and some glaze pens as well as a green shimmer pen, I colored the image in. Then ink distressed the edges with Nick Bantock Ink in Vermillion Lacquer.
I added a moss green satin ribbon through the labels die cut, then added the Dragon image with dimensionals. I used 2 colors of cord: Black and Moss Green, applied them with adhesive. Then I used a few pieces of Tim Holtz Grunge Board that I painted with Red Adirondack Dabber. To finish off the corner, I added an Asian coin on top. The Sentiment is from Third Coast Stamps using Onyx Black Versamark and again distressing the piece of CS with the Vermillion Lacquer.
I really hope you like the card. I love creating with Asian influence and this card was no exception.

Thanks for stopping by and

Wow, I just discovered your blog from the ranger ink link yahoo group. What beautiful work!! I really love the latest card you did for the 2 challenges (CPS 105), the colors are awesome and I love the butterflies and the overall look of it all together. Well I don't do that much online craft supply shopping but I must say I do love QVC as they always have cool stuff that is cutting edge at a good price and are reliable. I just got some cool Tim Holtz grungeboard book kits a few weeks ago.
