CPS challenge 104

This weeks Card Positioning System Sketch sang to me. I immediately had an idea and I am absolutely smitten with how it turned out. Take a look at this great sketch. For the colors, I used Basic Black, Tempting Turquoise and whisper white. I had some perfectly matched turquoise mulberry paper that I just had to try using. Have you figured out yet, that I absolutely love flourishes?
Well this project was no exception for using them. I used one of the flourishes from an autumn Leaves set paired with versamark for a subtle background stamp on the turquoise. For the white I tried my first shot at a water color look using Nick Bantock Cerelean Azure. I quite like the overall look this gave after I soaked it with water, then dried with an iron.
Then one of my other favorite things to do. I stamped my prima flowers in the same inks that I used for the rest of the project. I think this really give a flower that little UMPH!!! Finishing off the card with some square and rectangle jewels in black, this baby was done.
I so hope you enjoyed this card. The colors really sang to me. Don't forget to scroll down and enter my Blog Candy give away since I've reaches over 10000 hits. I so appreciate you stopping by, and this is just a little sign of my appreciation.

Mojo Monday Challenge

Mojo Monday time and I'll get right to it because I have another entry for today. Here is the Mojo Monday Challenge #75 I had my husband and sister both randomly choose a color each and the end result was violet and periwinkle. So Off I went trying to find papers that would match the two. I found a great multicolor print paper that had both on it wahoo!!!
I knew that with this challenge I wanted to do some eyelet work, so I used bright pink eyelets with pink ribbon to have that lacing look. I so like how this turned out. Then the tried and true butterflies had to make an appearance. I used the small one from SU Dreams du Jour and a small one from the Samurai warrior plate from non Sequitur. Both of which I stamped on Vellum and cut out.
To finish this little beaut up, I used some flourish stamps with both onyx black and snow cap white ink around the edges. Added 2 violet primas, and cut an oval nestie in half to hold the Joy sentiment. I sponged the oval in all the different colors of the paper I used, sponged some snow cap on the edges of the black and the Mojo #75 was born.

Hope you like it. Don't forget to enter my blog candy entry (you can find details in the post below)

A Card Box

I hopped on over, a few days ago, to 365 Cards and the first little challenge is to make a box of some sort to hold cards. Well I thought this was a fantastic idea for so many reasons, so I grabbed one of my silver Ikea boxes and got right to work. I used my craft room colors for the inspiration: Red, brown and pistachio green. This is what the final product looks like. I used SU paper from the Bella Rose, Rockabilly and Green Tea. For the inserts to separate types of cards, I used 2 colors of card stock also from SU. I rotated Riding Hood Red and Gable Green.
Then to trim the box, I used a few different items. Red cord, Moss Green Grosgrain ribbon, 2 white round brads, a few red buttons and some satin red ribbon for the bow.

This was an amazing project to do and I have officially crossed into altering items. This is going to become addictive isn't it. Hope you enjoyed this little box. Until next time

Pink Elephant Challenge #3 and Colour Create Pink and Gray Combo

This week over at The Pink Elephant, there is a great sketch challenge done by TPE's very own Carol. It is such a great sketch and I decided to make a cute card for the first time. I also combined this challenge with a color challenge over at Colour Create. They are doing a Gray and Pink Combo. So here is the 2 birds 1 stone approach! Here is the sketch followed by my take. For this challenge I used SU cardstock in Pink Pirouette, Regal Rose and Going Gray. I also used some more yummy paper from the Urban Oasis Line. I turned it so it would look like x's, since this is a hugs and kisses kind card. I also used a little piece of pink swirl from the Bella Birds line, as well as a great scrap that I found in my scrap drawer.
The stamp is just so sweet, and I'll find the maker for you, just can't remember off the top of my head. I used 2 different ribbon, 1 black and one thin pink. Then I thought I would get adventurous and try my hand a quilling that flourish. Using pink and grey paper, it came together. Then to finish this "hoot" of a card, I put some small liquid pearl dots around the flourishes in gray. TADA!!!! My very first cute card. What do ya think?
Thank you so much for coming by and taking a look at another one of my creations. Your comments are so appreciated. Take care and until next time

My first Card Patterns Challenge

Hi everyone and I hope you are all having a fantastic weekend.

I did my first ever challenge for Card Patterns. it was a sketch which you will see below. I hope you enjoy the card. This site really looks like a keeper, so if you love challenges, go take a look at Card Patterns
I decided to take some inspiration from the Basic Grey Challenge this week and use a Brown and Blue combo. I really like the look. As my sister says, kinda Victorian"ish". I used SU Brocade and bashful blue as well as Chocolate Chip. The pretty paper is also from SU and is the Bella Bleu Collection. Gosh diggity darn I love this line.
I used a few different stamps on the card. The large flourish is from Innovative Stamp Creations (another favorite) a little flourish on the Nesties blue oval, which I haven't a clue whom the maker is. Then i had a wonderful sentiment on acrylic that I stuck onto kraft SU paper about friends. Isn't that a great quote???

Lastly, I used a prima flower from the Da Vinci tube, 2 different colors of ribbon, and cut out the flourish stamp to add balance from top to bottom. Adding a few pearls that I painted with Shimmerz in Coffee, and a few little dots of cinnamon SticklesThis one was a trip to make and I hope you adore it, just like I do.
Thanks again for stopping by. I love the visitors and love to read your comments about my projects.
