The Butterfly Award

Debbie Wells just gave me my very first blog award. It is called the “Butterfly Award for the Coolest Blog I know!” I am so excited. Been surfing and wondering how people received those and now KAPOW!!! I've got one.

So the rules for this award:

1) Post the award’s logo on your blog

2) Add the link to the person who nominated you

3) Nominate at least 6 others and no more than 10 blogs & post their links.

Here are a few of the blogs that I visit every day. Gosh I just love these ones.

Ruthie B at Stampin With Ruthie
Mel at Mel Stampz
Julie Mutch at Mutch to Stamp
Heather at Ink on My Ear Love love love Heather's stuff!!!
Brenda at Stamp It Up
Lauren Meader at My Time My Creation My Stampendence This girl is one of the most talented people I've come across. I love this stuff.

These area few of the blogs that I absolutely love. Take a moment to check them out. You will be so glad that you did.

4) Let those people know that they have received the award.

You thought that was it didn’t you? There’s more. … Now for something completely different: This is a little different challenge requirement - to post the 6th photo found in your 6th folder in “My Pictures” and tell the story behind the photo. Here is the sixth picture in my sixth album.

So here it is...

A picture of my wonderful husband and our daughter at about 7 months old. Daddy had just given her a bath and the teeth were started to pop through.

Thank you again Debbie and

CPS Sketch Challenge101

CPS has a wonderful challenge yet again and since I just received some new SU papers, I had an idea.

I absolutely love the new Rockabilly design paper line from SU. It is just to darn sweet! Here is the sketch followed by my spin. Hope you like it.

Firstly I used Kiwi Kiss and Black Cardstock for the mattes. Then a 2/3, 1/3 split with the cherries and the black texture.(these papers have a great shine to areas and are wonderful to work with)

I then used a scalloped nestability and a great Making Memories acrylic tag. Layered them and then for the finale
A silver hodgepodge frame, some real purdy red organza ribbon and a Cherry Stamp to make this cute card complete.

Hope you really enjoy this card. It was a smash to make

Mojo Monday Challenge

It is so nice to be posting. I certainly don't like when this many days goes by, but hopefully this will be worth the wait. This Mojo Monday Sketch challenge was so much fun and I am glad that i took part in it. So without any more waiting, here is the Mojo Monday Sketch challenge #72 On your mark, get set and go...

And now my take on this great sketch.

I finally used my little stash of Basic Grey Ambrosia Paper. Gosh I love this company. There are some absolutely awesome paper collections. Now to just find a way to buy each and every one. (pondering)

I had gone down to Havre Montana last weekend and they have a Ben Franklins, so I picked up a bunch of ribbon. Now I can see how people get ribbon addiction. So many beautiful colors, textures and designs.

The stamp is the sweet butterfly from the Dreams du Jour Set by SU. I admit I love butterflies and winged things in general. They are just so purdy to create with. I used a little pumpkin shimmerz on this little fella.

Hope you all enjoyed this card. Have a terrific thursday and

an update

Wow it has really been a busy last few days, but a blog entry is in order (the card will come later this evening).

I received notice yesterday about 2 of the design teams that I applied for. I can't fathom how difficult it must be to chose a team from hundreds of applicants. So far no one has taken the Erika bait, but I'm new at this and can only become a better and stronger artist as time passes. I'm really looking forward to what the new designers bring to the table. The more inspiration the better.

Hope you are all having a fantastic wednesday. Now off to try and do a sketch card or two.
