Mojo Monday Challenge

There are quite a few great challenge sites out there, and one that I have come across that I really like is Mojo Monday They have some great sketch challenges and i've decided to be an active participant with these. This past monday they sketch challenge was

Here is my take on it

I used a bazzill linen textured cardstock in a very very purple, the striped matstack from All Dressed Up DCWV and a rose black and white print. The stamp is a ? (it was my moms many years ago) and I painted it with Coal Shimmerz then tried my first attempt at the bandana effect with a white souffle pen.

Gosh I can't wait to get my round nesties. That would have just given this card the punch that it needed.

Hope you enjoyed this card

On wednesday night, I ventured out to a SU workshop, and just had to share with you this really sweet card. I'm not usually about the "cutezy" factore, but this card was quite fun to make.

I used Pink Piroette, riding hood red, white and cocoa for the CS. The stamp is from the Cupcake set and I colored in the cherries, tray and liners in SU markers. Then I learned how to make frosting. With a little salt, flour and water, as well as your favorite reinker and a heating tool, this cute stamp turned into a little bit of magic.

Hope you all have a great day and

CPS sketch challenge

There is this great site on the net called Card Positioning Systems , which I absolutely love. It is a place that really helps me learn new ideas, and new layouts. This week they have a challenge called Readers Choice. In this particular challenge, you pick one of their previous sketches and create create create.

This is my addition to this really cool challenge. I chose sketch #38

I believe the stamp is a split coast stamp, (got it in a grab bag) and this is my first shot at a window card as well as the first time I've used my spellbinders to make a frame.

I colored her dress in with prussian blue Le Plume marker, then used fuschia on the roses in her hat. Last but not least, I use Shimmerz to give the hat and the flowers some ZING! Adding some prima flowers and adhesive pearls and the rest is history.

Hope you like it.

A little Love

Put together a little card for a Valentine's Day shindig I'm in. I made 2 of these in different colors, but since one is going directly to someone, you only get to see one ;)

The flourishes are Autumn Leaves Flourishes v2. Prima flowers from the essentials in Make Me Happy. I used Nick Bantock Ink, which is my absolute favorite of the little stash I have.

The colors for the ink are Cerulean Azure and Damson Plum. On the white gloss cardstock, I did something I've never done before and sponged the colors towards the center of the card. Then I took a blending pen, and pulled the color in. I also used the swirls embossing folder for the leaves I cut out, then brushed them gently with an Opalite Ink pad in Nordic Ice. Ain't she purdy!

Flutter By

After checking out Brenda's butterfly, I thought I would post a butterfly that I made a few weeks ago for a friend (who also is my main shopping stop). I used a butterfly stamp from Innovative Stamp creations. It is from their Elegant Artsy Swirls Plate, and I love love love this plate.

I used a brayer for the first time wahoo!!! The Cappuccino Delight Kaleidacolor Ink pad was used on Watercolor paper, which I then sprayed gently with water to meld the colors. Then used black ink and clear embossing powder on the butterfly itself. Cut it out, mounted it with some foam glue dots for depth, and voila a purdy autumn winged creature

I used some Wassail Basic Grey paper and defined the butterfly a little by using galaxy markers and a white souffle pen. The diamond background was versamarked then dusted with gold perfect pearls. A little bit of gold ribbon and a thank you card was born.
